We would be remiss in our duties if we did not share the above photo from Disco Delivery featuring Madonna gooching more than music from ABBA as she takes the stage in an outfit eerily reminiscent of another era, worn by a performer who could actually sing.
Now -- don't get huffy with us, queens.
We'll gladly admit to gooching our content from other websites most of the time. YouTube, BoingBoing, Drudge Report...Your Mama...all come to mind.
The only difference is we don't charge you $400 to wallow in redundancy – and perhaps that's why we hate Madonna so much.
She's never done anything original – and yet, she's filthy rich.
Mrs. Ciccone, one of the vilest appropriators of other peoples' lives and cultures, is sometimes overlooked for her extraordinary compassion, as this article from Time Magazine pointed out today: Madonna sinks teeth into Africa.
She has already committed to raising at least $3 million to fund programs particularly aimed at orphans [in Africa]. Of Malawi's population of 12 million, about a million are orphans. Ground has just been broken on an orphan care center, which aims to feed and educate as many as 1,000 children a day.
"For the last few years, now that I have children and now that I have what I consider to be a better perspective on life, I have felt responsible for the children of the world," said Madonna, "I've been doing bits and bobs about it and I suppose I was looking for a big, big project I could sink my teeth into."
Given that $3 million is about 1.5% of what her latest tour is projected to rake in this year, calling it "charitable" is a matter best left to Madge and her tax attorneys at the firm of Bits, Bobs, Botox and Bullshit.
We salute Mrs. Ciccone for her significant contributions to the world of popular culture and for reminding us that stealing other people's ideas is only wrong if you lose the lawsuit.
