The teams ended the last leg of the race in Krakow, Poland. Uchenna & Joyce and Oswald & Danny depart together first since they arrived in Krakow as a team. They must fly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and find the Batu Caves.
Charla & Mirna go online and book the earliest flight available. Eric & Danielle arrive while they’re using both of the available computers, but Charla & Mirna refuse to share. This bites them on the ass later on at the airport when Eric denies them a favor, but not really since they still ended up being the lone team on the earliest flight.
Uchenna & Joyce decide to take a huge risk by taking the next available flight that may or may not give them enough time to make the connecting flight in Frankfurt. The risk doesn’t pay off because their flight is delayed and the miss the connecting flight. The next available flight is not until the next day. There is no way in hell that Uchenna & Joyce aren’t going home this week.
Charla & Mirna arrive at the Batu Caves first and get a new clue instructing them to travel to a mosque with a crazy name that’s about 10 miles away. The clue also warns that there’s a yield up ahead. However, they decide against using the yield because they want to play a clean game or some shit, conveniently forgetting the past few weeks in which they’ve lied and cheated their way into their current position at the head of the race.
At the mosque, the encounter a Detour: Artistic Expression or Cookie Confection. In Artistic Expression, teams must use an ancient technique to exactly duplicate one of three patterns on a 40 foot piece of cloth and then dye it. In Cookie Confection, teams must search through 600 boxes of cookies to find the one with a black licorice center. Ew…not only is black licorice disgusting, but this challenge is incredibly wasteful. Nevertheless, Charla & Mirna opt for the cookies.
Dustin & Kandice decide to do what Charla & Mirna didn’t have the balls to do and use the yield on Eric & Danielle. They make the smart choice and do Artistic Expression.
Charla & Mirna gave up on the cookies and decided to give the art a try. Oswald & Danny argue about whether or not they have to bite every cookie or only one in each box. (For the record, Oswald was right; they had to bite into every cookie). They give up and decide to do the art, but then change their minds and opt to stick with the cookies…until they change their minds again (!!!) and go do the art.
Dustin & Kandice finish first and get a clue instructing them to travel to a nearby neighborhood and find a newspaper truck to get their next clue. The next clue is in fact a Road Block in which one person must travel by bicycle around the neighborhood and convince people to give them their old newspapers to recycle. Once they have a stack eight hands high, they’ll get their next clue.
Dustin & Kandice also finish this task first and must now make their way to the Pit Stop at a mansion called Carcose Seri Negara. They arrive first and each win a retro scooter, whatever that is.
Charla & Mirna arrive 2nd, with Eric & Danielle in 3rd and Oswald & Danny in 4th. All of these teams seemed completely oblivious to the fact that Uchenna & Joyce were a day behind them. They arrived so far behind that they bypassed all challenges and went straight to the pit stop where Phil said goodbye to them. I liked them, but they already won the million so I don’t really care. However the only team left that I actually like is Oswald & Danny, so they better make it!
