America's Next Top Model- The Girl Who Blames the Taxi Driver

Nene Works ItNene Works It

Previously on Top Model: The girls went to Australia and attempted to shoot a Cover Girl commerical. This week: go sees! Five girls remain...who wants to be on top (na na na na na na)?

I'm now breaking these suckers into the show's four main parts: lesson, challenge, shoot and panel. This week there was no lesson (except for, you know, the everyday life ones that Top Model is always chock-full of) so let's get to the rest.

THE CHALLENGE: The girls head out for go-sees in Sydney. As always, they have to get back afterwards by a certain time or risk elimination from the challenge. Renee, Dionne, and Jaslene make it back on schedule. Natasha arrives minutes late and is sent outside while the judges judge. Brittany comes in after her, but does not take the news as gracefully. She begins to cry and moan about how her taxi driver messed things up for her (though in a thoughtfully provided flashback, we see that's not the case). Her complaints are so loud they interrupt the judging inside. It's awful. I mean, I'm laughing, but it's awful.

In between Brittany's wails, we learn that Jaslene is the winner of the challenge. She and a friend (Dionne) get to build their portfolio via a shoot with Nigel on top of a bridge. It's one of many scores for Dionne that day...she asks all of her go-see designers if she can keep their clothes, and a few agree.

THE SHOOT: This week the girls are doing two photo shoots- one for a women's magazine and one for a men's, both in bathing suits. Tyra shoots the first one and is impressed with Brittany, Jaslene and Renee. She gets frustrated with Natasha for always scrunching her shoulders and Dionne for requiring so much direction. At the second, sexier shoot, things play out in much the same way. Natasha improves, of course, because she's all about the sexy, but Dionne struggles some more. Her "hot" face is just mean.

PANEL: It's a tough day for the judges with only five girls left, all of whom are pretty talented. Jaslene, Renee and Brittany have gorgeous shots. These are my favorite of Renee's and the first of Jaslene without a lot of costuming that don't look so drag. Natasha predictably scores better in sexy. Dionne doesn't do well in either. Still, we discover that none of the designers wanted to hire Brittany after meeting her in go-sees. Between that and her nonstop drama, the judges have seen enough. Though she's taken the best pictures the most consistently, Brittany is sent home.
