Instant Star: Sympathy For the Devil

Jude Means BusinessWell, we're nearing the end of another season of Instant Star, and we seem to be faced with a very familiar Jude question: Jamie? Or Tommy?

Jamie's always been there for her, but their relationship was inexplicably cut short the last time they tried. Oh, and there was that whole Patsy tantrum he pulled as well.

Tommy and Jude were happy for all of three minutes before Hunter came in, all revenge-seeky, and ruined their budding romance. While that wasn't Tommy's fault, we suspect he might be too damaged to even consider dating.

So...is there a third choice?

On to this week's episode.

JUDE AND JAMIE: After the near-death experience with Hunter, Jamie is being extra-protective of BFF Jude and she can't help but feel the love. G Major is throwing a big bash to honor Darius, so Jude asks Jamie to come with her as her date. Jamie tells her no. They have to stay platonic.

Jude is miffed, so Sadie 'splains it for her. She needs to really be done with Tommy to move forward with Jamie. Close one door to open another.

At the party, Tommy tells Jude that he's leaving town. He's still so distraught by the whole Angie/Portia/Hunter thing he has to go. Jude says she doesn't understand him, but she forgives him.

Door shut, she approaches Jamie, who has been having second thoughts about his platonic stance. He says he wants to date her, and he'll show her if he can walk her home. Yow!

Of course, poor Jamie, on the walk home Tommy shows up, all leather-jacketed and hot, and says he needs to talk to Jude. Jude goes into hands in the air indecisive mode, and leaves both guys out in the cold.

PORTIA'S SECRET: Portia and Darius share a quick word at the top of the episode about Tommy, Angie and Hunter. He's a wreck, Portia says, shouldn't we tell him the truth? Darius put the kibosh on the truth deal, and we're left wondering what's up.

Later, when Tommy is leaving G Major, he fixes Darius' Boys Attack Gold Record, and it comes crashing down to reveal...a police report. Angie's brakes were cut that night. Wait...not Angie's brakes. Tommy's. Portia was so worried about him leaving her that she cut his brakes. She never intended for Angie to take his car, or for anyone to get hurt.

Darius covered up the whole thing in order to protect his sister, but now she's telling the truth. The police come and take her away as Tommy looks on, all broody and broken-hearted.

SADIE'S QUEST: Sadie finally takes Kharma's advice and goes and get what she wants. At the party for Darius, she comandeers the mic and tells Quest that she loves him. He forgives her, and the two kiss. Aw. At least SOMEONE is happy in Canada.

Next week: It's the season finale, and Jude makes her choice.
