Paula wants to spend some QT with her friends and decides to take them to a pre-Oscar gifting suite (now, that’s my kinda friend!). But someone should probably explain to her that being in the same place as your friends doesn’t qualify as actually “spending time” with them. She’s having major difficulties getting the phone off her ear and ends up ignoring her BFFs and missing an appointment with Daniel.
Paula is contemplating doing some major renovations to her home, which would require her to move temporarily into a rental. She’s also having health issues and not feeling up to decorating duties, so she’s putting Daniel in charge of overseeing the interior designer’s work. Debra, the interior designer, runs some ideas by Daniel and is given the green light to decorate her little heart out.
Over the years Paula has sustained numerous traumas and extensive wear and tear to her neck and back due to performing. In conjunction with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Paula’s pain has become a chronic problem that affects her daily life. In the hopes of finding some answers, Paula takes a trip to San Diego to consult one of her leading physicians, Dr. Rice.
In the meantime, Debra has been hard at work at the rental home. Daniel pops in to check on the decorating progress and declares that Paula will love it. Well, wouldn’t you know that when Paula finally does check out the house, she hates it. Hates it so much that she cries. We just couldn’t escape an episode without tears people!
Paula’s trip to San Diego is turning out to be a success. Dr. Rice says his goal is to try and restore function to Paula’s life, without the pain and stress, and he pinpoints the problem to Paula’s adrenal glands. Due to extreme stress, Paula’s adrenal glands have shut down. By resetting her biological clock, Paula will be able to better handle stress on a daily basis, will sleep soundly through the night and will have increased energy. Cha-ching!
More good news was soon on the way when Paula finds out she’s been given the chance to produce a demo for her own nationally syndicated radio show (Ryan Seacrest has got to be pissed!). In the end, Paula’s happy to bask in a double dose of happy news, puts off her renovation plans and sells her rental home.
