We start this week with a Rapper by the name of Extra Large givining an interview about the rivalty betweek Rappers. He finishes the interview when his limo arrives to take him to hi next appointment. The limo drives down the road and then the bomb explodes. Extra Large is killed in the explosion and the limo driver is seriously injured.
Monk and Natalie are sychonizing all of Monk’s clocks because daylight savings time. Monk is mad at her though because the clock is now two seconds too late. Monk then gives Natalie flowers for secretaries’ day. Natalie is upset since she thinks of herself as more than a secretary. Murderous (Snoop Dog) arrives at Monk’s house. When he sees Monk resetting his clock he forgets that he didn’t set his clock. Natalie recognizes Murderous and tells him that she has to continually take his music away from her daughter. Murderous tells Monk about what happened to Extra Large. He believes the police will target him because he wrote a song about killing Extra Large and Extra Large used to work for him. He asks for Monk’s help and Monk takes the case. Monk tries to be hip but fails miserably. When Murderous and his assistants leave Monk asks Natalie what just happened. Natalie tells him that he took the case, but Monk thinks he told them he wouldn’t take the case.
Monk and Natalie head to the crime scene. Monks helps one of the police officers reassemble the car. We find out that Disher really likes rap music. Stottlemeyer shows Monk that the bomb was made out of white silver which is a trademark of Murderous. Monk is feeling horrible since he took the case and he thinks he is guilty. Natalie asks Stottlemeyer why Monk would take the case. Stottlemeyer tells him that when Monk gets nervous he blacks out and agrees to anything someone asks him.
Stottlemeyer and Disher interrogate Murderous. Stottlemeyer reminds him that he had arrested him several times when he was a kid. Murderous denies being involved. Disher tries to help with his rapping. He tries to sing the song “Car Bomb” (song by Murderous). The song makes it seem even more likely that Murderous is guilty. Stottlemeyer says he will be found guilty when the limo driver tells everyone who he say plant the bomb. Natalie is the only person that thinks Murderous is not guilty.
Monk and Natalie go to the Fresh Rhymes recording studio (Extra Large’s studio). You can tell that Monk has a hatred for rap music. Monk and Natalie talk with the two owners of Fresh Rhymes Woody and Hodgins. They tell them that they are really sad when they heard Extra Large had died since he was solely responsible for growing their company. Woody and Hodges get in a fight because Hodgins arrived an hour late to their planned Sunday brunch. One of the rappers who is working on his next song comes into the room and asks for help of which of two words he should use in his song. When it comes to Monk’s turn to decide he can’t decide like usual.
As Monk and Natalie are leaving the recording studio Hodgins tells them that he has some more information. He tells them that he is positive that he saw a black, tall man by the garage at 7:00 pm the previous night. Natalie tells Monk that she thinks Hodgins did it.
At the hospital a black man enters the limo driver’s room and strangles him with a white silver necklace. The next day Monk is at the hospital since Natalie is mad that he doesn’t listen to her. Stottlemeyer tells Monk to respect Natalie more since she does so much for him. Stottlemeyer then tells him about the murder of the driver. He tells him about the murder weapon which connects the murder to Murderous and their are footprints from shoes that Murderous has been known to wear.
Monk wants out of his contract since he thinks Murderous is guilty. Stottlemeyer takes him to Murderous’ house. Before going in Stottlemeyer warns him not to use any gang signals. Monk decides just to put his hands out in front of him. Once in the house only Monk can meet with Murderous since Stottlemeyer is a cop. Monk is getting nervous as he walks past drunk and high people. When he meets Murderous, Murderous tells him to calm down. Monk tries to drop the case but can’t. Monk blacks out again and agrees to be Murderous’ head of security. He also is turned into a rapper with gold caps on his teeth and necklaces around his neck.
When Monk gets home he starts packing up since he is planning on running away to avoid Murderous. Monk has his many suitcases packed (there is even one filled with water). Natalie still thinks Hodgins is still guilty. Monk then figures out the case by looking at one of his clocks that wasn’t reset after daylight Saving time. Monk realizes that Hodgins had to be lying and is guilty of Extra Large’s death.
A rap concert is being held in memory of Extra Large. Hodgins is in attendance at the concert. Stottlemeyer apologizes to Murderous outside the concert. Stottlemeyer and the police are ready to arrest Hodgins. Murderous and his gang, Monk, Natalie, Disher, and Stottlemeyer interrupt the concert. Monk heads to the stage and tries to be “cool”. Monk then tries to explain what happened but he can’t talk because the crowd is booing him so loudly. Murderous comes up on the stage and helps Monk by rapping how it happened. Monk figured out the Hodgins lied because the timer on the detonator only lasted for 12 hours. The bomb went off after 13 hours. Monk then discovered that Hodgins wasn’t actually targeting Extra Large. He was targeting his partner so he could get a higher percentage of the company. He forgot about daylight savings so the bomb went off an hour late killing Extra Large instead of his partner. Hodgins is connected to the crime because the police searched his house and found his bomb making factory.
Murderous thanks Monk and Natalie. Monk finally starts to appreciate Natalie for everything she does for him. Murderous offers Monk a body guard position with him for his tour but Monk declines.
