Make Me A Supermodel: (Episode 104)

Holly, Jay and Aryn head back to the catwalk to see who stays and who goes.  To the surprise of the other models, Aryn got the boot.  They were all not-so-secretly pulling for Holly's departure, likely because she's stiffer competition than Aryn ever would have been.

While the girls fawn over Holly and pretend they're happy to see her, Ronnie and Ben comfort each other over the loss of their third Musketeer, Aryn.  (I bet I know someone who's not sad!  Ben's wife.)  Despite their heartbreak, Ronnie was so obviously over the moon when Ben said, "Now we only have each other."  Doesn't he know what he's doing to poor Ronnie's heart?!

The group sets off to an art studio where they observe a class sketching nude models.  Peeking out from behind an easel, Tyson announced they were looking at this week's training assignment.  Each of the remaining ten models will have to hold their composure throughout a ten-minute pose in front of the entire class.  Hope everyone properly showered before they arrived!

Up first was Katy who took a deep breath and derobed.  I would imagine it's like ripping a band-aid off, you just gotta do it quick and get it over with.  Instructing the class to "make me look skinny, y'all," Katy did much better than anticipated, and the teacher even complimented her body.  Holly also exceeded expectations, taking into consideration she had difficulties last week wearing lingerie and that her fiance hasn't even seen her completely naked.  Are you serious?!  This kid better make a cameo soon.  We need to meet him.

Frankie had absolutely no qualms about stripping down, nor did Shannon, who breezed through this task with flying colors as usual.  Ben seemed slightly uncomfortable as did Jay, who had trouble holding his pose.  Most nervous out of the boys, however, was surprisingly Casey.  The poor boy had to pee five times before his turn and once he was finally in position, he shook and sweated the entire time.

Ronnie rocked and Stephanie held her pose well, but Jacki disappointed a bit with her flushed face and neck.  Perry rounded out the group with the most peculiar pose out of everyone--a batting stance.  Try not to giggle while doing that!

Clothed once again, it was time for the models to put their training to good use.  Their next photo assignment was to fit together to make pieces of a portrait.  Split into boy and girl teams, each group was allowed to chose one member of the opposite sex to join their photo.  The guys nabbed golden girl Shannon for their shoot while the girls chose Perry.

The boys' were up first in a very Ralph Lauren spread.  Outfitted in cable knit sweaters, blazers and polos, topped off with old school golf hats and cropped pants, the boys were shot in a decadent library.  Shannon's 20s-style hair, sailor pants and red striped shirt made her quite reminiscent of Popeye's Olive Oyl, and she was totally at home in the boys club.  All was going well until the photographer decided to cut Casey and Jay from the shot.  Explaining that Casey had limited facial expressions and seemed uncomfortable (uh, yeah, rightly so!  He had people sitting on his legs), the photographer continued with the shoot and was soon on to the girls.

Continuing with the 20s vibe, the girls were flappered out in black silk dresses, pearls and set hair, while Casey played the Jay Gatsby role oh-so-well in a cream suit.  The photographer got the shot no problem and decided not to eliminate anyone.  He did note that although Katy looked great in the final photo, she was unfocused between shots.

The kids return back to the loft to see photos from the previous challenge framed and hanging on the wall.  This was particularly uplifting for Casey, who was still bummed about his elimination.  He said his S&M photo with Perry reminded him that he does have what it takes to take a great photo.

The next training assignment had the group working as a living art installation.  One girl was chosen to be the centerpiece of the piece during a walk-off in some very Vivienne Westwood-esque platform shoes.  Stephanie took the title and relished in the role.  With her art background, she seized this as her opportunity to shine and seemed much more at home in the black body paint and g-strings than anyone else.  Ronnie was also a standout, while the artist singled out Katy and Ben as being in her bottom two.

Back at the loft the group enjoys some cocktails with a professor/student themed party.  Each boy took on a different professor role and the girls were their students.  Perry was hilarious as a Shakespearean theater teacher, Jay deadon as a Black history teacher, Frankie was a washed up rock 'n roll history prof, Casey was a geeky science teach and Ronnie was a very hand-ons anatomy professor.

The next morn they learned their catwalk assignment from Niki: to carry themselves as a living piece of art.  Sporting some wacky European designer duds, each walked the runway and were required to strike three different art-inspired poses throughout.

The outfits were an assortment of cumbersome, eclectic pieces and each did their best to make them come alive.  Ronnie was by far the best with his intense gaze and Perry, Stephanie and Shannon all had great runs as well.  The judges comments weren't anything surprising.  Jennifer said that they too often hear how Katy is easily distracted on shoots and wanted to know what was up with her ending pose, facing the back wall.  Cory told Stephanie to slow her roll when she's on the catwalk.  Shannon was adored by all the judges; they believe she could be doing Paris couture work this minute.  Holly was commended for bouncing back from last week, while Casey was spotlighted for losing his momentum.

Shannon, Holly, Stephanie, Perry and Ronnie were announced as safe, with Stephanie being named this week's winner.  This left just one last spot of freedom, and I was shocked to see Ben receive it.  Next week we'll find out who out of Katy, Jay and Casey will be castoff.  Hopefully Jay.  He's not performing any worse than Katy, but at least she seems like she really, really wants this.  As for Casey?  I doubt he's going anywhere.  He's already shown too much potential in the previous two weeks.  Vote at bravotv.com!

I hope Casey doesn't get voted off!

He and Perry are still my favorites. Of the girls, I thought Holly looked incredible in both the group photo shot and on the runway. I can't seem to warm up to Stephanie or Shannon, though I can see that both are doing really well.

It would be fun to meet all the S.O.'s of the contestants -- Ben's wife, Holly's fiancee, Perry's girlfriend. It's weird to think how quickly they're producing the episodes -- that 1920s photo shoot was shot on Saturday!
