The L Word- Lunar Cycle (Episode 61)

This week kicks off with a scene from the film.  Bev admits she had been cheating but Nina is the love of her life.  Nina throws the table in a fit of anger-a little foreshadowing perhaps?  But clearly she isn't too angered since a few choice words have coerced Nina into a quick change of heart. At The Planet, the ladies discuss Jodi's whereabouts since her recent falling out/break up with Bette.  Max informs the group that she has been staying with a friend but no one sure who.  Bette confesses she hasn't spoken to Jodi, since she won't return any of her phone calls.  No one is the least bit shocked Jodi has no interest in talking to Bette.  Jenny tries to remind them they are sisters but no one is interested in her crap.  It's amazing anyone IS interested/puts up with Jenny's crap.  Even her new positive Polly attitude is tough to buy.  Cindy and her girl come in and announce they bought 51% of The Planet from Ivan.  Kit, in a fit of anger, throws the table at them.  She demands they leave but being new owners they have no obligation to honor her demands.  Jodi makes a surprise appearance.  She tells Bette they need to spend time together- obviously avoiding the irony of using the word talk.  They leave together.  Bette clears her morning meetings to "spend time" with Jodi. Bette admits that fixing things with Jodi is more important than her meetings.  Meanwhile, Adele is taking on meetings in Jenny's place.  Tina runs off to mitigate the situation- feeling that something isn't right.     Meanwhile, Bette insists to Jodi that her affair with Tina isn't just about fucking.  They have a ton of history and she is truly sorry.  Jodi doesn't buy it.  Jodi asks if she is in love with Tina.  Bette admits she is.  Jodi then asks if she loves her.  Bette insists she loves them both while Jodi doesn't think it's possible.  Jodi now in tears makes a move for some hot make up sex. It all seems to be go according to plan....until the phone rings and Bette puts an end to it.  Jodi thinks they should meet later and in public to really get to the bottom of this.  They go to Bette's job.  Bette gets filled in on what she missed during her morning of attempted reconciliation.  W magazine wants to do a cover on Bette and Jodi.  The theme is hot, powerful, lesbian couples. Jodi gleefully obliges and Bette sharply rejects the idea.  Later Bette explains her rationale for rejecting the piece- as its about couples and they aren't one.  Jodi is confused since Bette wanted to spend the morning "fixing things".  Bette insists she just wanted to fix the friendship.  They will not work in a relationship.  Jodi thinks therapy could fix them but Bette has no interest. Finally Bette admits she will never find what she is looking for with Jodi, since she has it already with someone else.  Jodi accepts they are finished and Bette offers Jodi a ride home.  She complies and the two head to Bette's house to pick up her stuff.  Jodi gathers her things and gives Bette what would've been her birthday present.  She opens her gift which is a very fancy Tag Heuer watch.       On the Alice/Tasha front, the apartment search begins! Alice tries to convince Tasha into taking a house but the place is 8 times her current rent which translates to a 4 times increase. Alice insists a 50/50 split isn't necessary.  Tasha does not see it that way.  Alice paying more would leave their relationship out of balance.  Tasha says she will not be at the taping.  Alice isn't pleased but figures she'll get over it.  At the taping, Alice comments on the new boyish line they are introducing.  Mary, one of the other talk show hosts, makes a snide comment on how that must be Alice's style.  Alice comes back and insists that contrary to popular to belief she is pretty much a femme but to bring on the cute boyish gals anyway!  Alice then continues to say that all straight girls are a little curious.  Mary banters back like a child insisting she is not and never was.  They show the line and bring on the designer for an interview.  They grill her on why she wants to dress women.  She is stumped and sits there awkwardly.  Alice chimes in and jokes that it must be the same reason Alice likes to undress them.  It's painfully obvious they exchange a mild flirtation.  At the end of the show, Mary cues the audience on whether Alice becomes a permanent fixture on "The Look".  The designer later pulls Alice aside to invite her to a fashion week event, which is interrupted by a surprise visit from Tasha.    On the set, Tina is called into the conference room.  Adele says nothing and pops in the video of Nikki and Jenny getting it on.  Adele insists no one has seen it yet but she has 25 copies ready to be sent out to all major gossip outlets.  Adele rants about how important this film is and how it shouldn't be tainted by a scandal.  Note: a scandal that would probably never surface had Adele not interfered.  Its obvious Adele wants Jenny out.  It seems that Jenny doesn't have much of a choice in the matter.  Jenny seeks out Niki to warn her about the tape.  She then attempts to rally the production crew on a walk out.  No one has her back, except Shane.  Jenny pleads Niki to come with.  Someone in the background gently reminds her she is under contract.  Jenny storms out in a fit of rage.  Cue Adele, the new director, ready to take center stage.  Tina follows Jenny to her trailer and attempts to talk some reason into her.  Jenny is more pissed at Niki, as this is clearly an act of betrayal to her rather than a breech of contract issue.  Tina reassures her that she will fix this since its their movie.  Jenny takes solace in that fact.  Shane and Tina discuss, over a soda bottle bong, Nikki's decision not to walk out with Jenny.  Shane sees it Jenny's way and they keep on smokin'.     Meanwhile Kit, still enraged on the recent buy out of The Planet, loads up her gun and hops in her car.  Kit leaves Bette a voicemail warning her she is about to do something bad.  Kit sneaks around plotting her revenge.  She stalking is interrupted by a panicked phone call from Bette.  She is in a bind and needs someone to pick up Angie.  She is spotted by Cindy right before she makes her leave.  Kit picks up Angie and brings her to The Planet.  She leaves Angie in the back to play.  When Kit goes to bring her a snack, she discovers Angie has uncovered her gun which is now her new toy.  Kit now horrified on what could've been breaks down.  Tina and Bette arrive to pick up Angie.  Kit reminds them that regardless of how shitty their days were Angie is what is really important.
