The Hills: Just Be Careful... (Episode 323)

Will she or won't she?: Lauren picks up some work from People's Revolution. Or she's using the rack as a stripping pole. Will she or won't she?: Lauren picks up some work from People's Revolution. Or she's using the rack as a stripping pole.I think the lesson from this episode is that Audrina shouldn't be left to her own devices. Especially when it comes to Heidi. When Heidi and Stephanie have a girls' night at Vice, they see Audrina out with co-worker Chiara and a few other folks. At some point, everybody except Audrina disappears -- where did they go? -- so Heidi takes it upon herself to get up and say hello. Which gave Audrina the opportunity to defend herself when Heidi made her pitch for hanging out. Uh oh.

When discussing the whole situation with Lauren, again talking about how crazy it got, Audrina is all "Well you need to learn to keep your friends while you're in a relationship." Only she sounded way more bad-ass (albeit in a low-key sort of way) that had me thinking, "Damn, she's kinda deep."

That resolve seemed to soften quite a bit, as she let Heidi stop by to pick up some of her stuff. She didn't give Heidi an opportunity to settle in, not saying anything more than "Here's your stuff." Heidi got the message and left, though she did invite Audrina to call her if she ever wanted to hang out. And it appears they do, if the promo for next week's episode is to be believed. Oooh... There's some explaining to do to Lauren, though Audrina swears she has no intention of being Heidi's friend. Lauren just warns her to be careful with Heidi.

And Whitney makes an appearance this week! She is loving the job at People's Revolution -- it's like the work they used to do together at Teen Vogue, only instead of one show they have to prepare six at a time. She gives Lauren the dirt on a staff meeting where LA publicist Jessica totally bricked during a meeting where Whitney had a great idea. It's all about positive reinforcement and total devotion to PR, as L.A. Fashion Week is just days away. PR owner Kelly Cutrone aims to get the LA office in shape like the NY office, and Whitney's just come onboard at a time when they need all hands on deck.

Quick aside: where are all these nautical metaphors coming from?

Lauren, missing Whitney and maybe just a little bit bored in the Teen Vogue fashion closet, seems up for a visit to PR, where she finds Whitney and the staff in full labelling, racking, organizing mode. Lauren jumps into the fray, helping Whitney with some data entry when PR partner Emily sees this, and offers Lauren a gig helping during L.A. Fashion Week. Lauren says she's up for it, and Whitney? Could not be more ecstatic that Lauren will be jumping into the fray.
