Dancing with the Stars: "The Results" (Episode 612)

After all their belly aching and judge trashing, Shannon Elizabeth and partner Derek were the first couple to be named safe form elimination last night.  Humbled, the duo offered up a weak apology in the hopes of dismissing their hostile attitudes before Monday’s performance.  Also returning to the ballroom are Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony, Cristian de le Fuente and Cheryl, Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark, Jason Taylor and Edyta as well as Mario and Karina, who were in the bottom two for the second time this season.  This meant that Marlee Matlin and Fabien’s time had come to an end.  

With tears in her eyes, Marlee expressed her gratitude to the judges and her partner.  Tom Burgeron even stepped out of his hosting shoes to tell Marlee, as a friend, that he was so proud of her.  A testament to the positive impact Marlee’s had, this week’s round of the junior ballroom championship featured a young girl who was deaf in one ear.  Working hard to bypass her handicap, Brittany and her partner devised a system of hand squeezes and counting to keep them on beat.  Their efforts paid off and the couple advanced to the final round of the junior competition with her partner Brandon, beating out the adorably short Austin and his partner Lisa.   

Ashlee Simpson also performed, and I totally think she’s preg-o.  Wearing a mini, mini black dress, Ash’s legs looked noticeably heavier than usual.  Which means they were actually normal-sized.  Girlfriend’s usually teetering on some serious twigs.

Next week marks the 100th episode of Dancing with the Stars, and many celebs of seasons’ past will return to mark the occasion.
