Everybody Hates Chris: Everybody Hates Earth Day (Episode 18)

It's Earth Day, and the kids at Corleone Jr. High devise their own projects to promote and save the environment. While Greg's idea for a solar powered-tanning bed is impressive, I bet Chris's proposal to collect aluminum cans and recycle will be just as effective. Just as long as Julius and his truck can be enlisted for the cause.

Julius is in as long as Rochelle can abstain from yelling. Julius bets her $5 that she can't can't yell for a whole week after Tonya gets in trouble for yelling at a classmate. I guess the yelling apple doesn't fall far from the yelling tree. Drew is working on making a potato-powered clock while Chris has trouble getting Julius to commit to his commitment.

When Julius bails on Chris, who's left the comfort of Bed-Stuy (and tough can-collecting competition from Kill Moves and other collectors) for a white neighborhood, where the cans are plentiful. Chris thinks he sees Julius's truck, but is confused when he sees that the driver isn't his daddy (much to the driver's relief). It seems that Julius fed him a story about working an extra shift when in fact he was at home trying to sleep. This gets Rochelle back to yelling, $5 be damned, which motivates Julius to help Chris with his project. A truckful of cans yields a measley $6, but it's Julius's suggestion that Chris give the money to Kill Moves that makes Chris realize that saving the planet doesn't mean anything if he can't save people as well. Now if we can get get Kill Moves to stop spending his money on spray paint, styrofoam coolers, whiskey, and cigarettes, that would be something else.
