Brown nosing the judges and padding her butt wasn't enough for Shannon Elizabeth to secure her spot in the ballroom another week. She bid farewell to the rest of the cast last night, but notingly didn't say goodbye to her partner Derek Hough, who's shoulder she cried on and called a "friend for life." I give them two weeks tops to come out as a couple in a splashy tabloid spread (speaking of, what's the status on Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas?!).
Joining Shannon and Derek in the bottom two were Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony, despite their great performances this week. Cristian de la Fuente and his bum wing (he torn a tendon in his forearm Monday night while performing in the Latin round) will be back next week, despite his need for surgery. He said he'll take his chances if the viewers stay on his side, adding that if Marlee could take a risk, he's willing to, too. Also returning next week are, Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark, Mario and Karina, Jason Taylor and Edyta.
Jason (who apparently has a bit of a flatulence problem, according to Kenny Mayne!) and Edyta were asked to reprise their ballroom dance from Monday. Thanks to their mini-lift and everyone overstepping the pre-set boundaries of what is/isn't a lift, Len announced that next week each couple can do one lift during their performance if they wish. However, the lift must keep with the character of the dance--no lifts just for the sake of a lift.
Def Leopard was the big performer last night, singing their hit "Pour Some Sugar on Me" as well as their new single. Next week, Rascal Flatts will take the stage for Dancing with the Star's 100th episode celebration. The judges will also be counting down the top ten dances of seasons past and formed celeb contestants will be on hand.
