Beauty and the Geek: Snowbound (Episode #46)

The teams get a break from the norm this week when they learn they are off to Big Bear for some fun in the snow.  While most are excited, some are slightly nervous to hit the slopes.

After some snowball fights and flirting (mostly among Tommy and Tara) the teams learn their mission: to build a sled from scratch, as a team, take it to the top of a large, snowy hill, and make it down the hill without falling off the sled.  The key is, the beauties are doing all the building while the geeks are pretty much gofers.   

Immediately, Kristina and Jason are off to a great start.  They finished their sled with plenty of time to spare, as the other teams were still working on getting it built.  It would seem they are a shoe in to win, however, getting up the hill would prove to be a daunting task for Kristina.

After finally making it up the hill, Kristina and Jason get ready to head back down.  I'm not sure where Jason is from, but I'm pretty sure he has never gone sledding a day in his life.  At the top of the hill where they were supposed to gain speed, Jason couldn't help but put his feet down.  Now, for those who never played in snow before, this will stop you, or at least seriously slow you down.  Therefore, the first run was a no go because they didn't make it down the hill.  But surely, they can do it the second time around?

Well, apparently not.  At the bottom of the hill second time around, they toppled off the sled.  OK, looks like Chris and Cara are quickly approaching behind them.  Third time's a charm right? Wrong, this time they stoped just short of the finish line.  Maybe Chris and Cara will have better luck.

Unfortunately not.  Turns out they didn't do much sledding either.  While Kristan is about to stop breathing, Cara and Chris forge back up the hill to try again.  Only speed racer Tommy pretty much carried Amanda up the hill faster then Chris and Cara could even fly.  On their first shot, Tommy and Amanda make it down the hill for the win.

And what a huge win it is.  Turns out, there will be no elimination ceremony this week.  Instead, the remaining teams will have to vote a team out of the house.  The team with the most votes must leave immediately from Big Bear, not returning to the mansion at all.  Should their be a tie, Tommy and Amanda are to choose the team to leave.  But that won't happen, right?

Amazingly, each team ends up with one vote.  Leaving the final say up to an emotional Tommy and Amanda.  Ironicly, they choose Jason and Kristan (the two who should have won the challenge) to send home.  Just goes to show you, trust no one on reality TV.
