Swingtown: Season 1: Episode 02: Love Will Find a Way

Two For The Price Of OneTwo For The Price Of One

This week's episode starts off with Janet making pies for some guests coming over for dinner.  Her husband Roger tries to take a piece when Tom and Trina suddenly show up looking for a little action.  Janet freaks out and wakes up to hear the phone ringing.  It was only a dream.....

Janet knows that Susan is calling and decides to ignore talking to her even though Roger points out that it is card night tonight with the Millers.

On the other end Susan hangs up the phone.  Bruce is getting ready for his second week at the new firm and asks Susan if they are still going over to play cards tonight with Janet and Roger.  Susan doesn't know because Janet has been acting strange ever since the 4th of July party.

Susan decides that they should make a pack that the evening with the Decker's was a one time thing . Bruce agrees.

At Trina and Tom's house they are finishing up their morning cardio in bed when the phone rings.  Corporate is on the phone for Tom and wants him in their office right away.  Tom thinks they might be offering him the new Tokyo route.  Trina looks a little worried.

Bruce leaves his briefcase on the kitchen table.  Susan runs outside to find Bruce talking to Trina.  Bruce looks a little awkward by this.  Susan offers to drive Bruce to the train. He refuses but asks if she can pick him up on the 6pm train after work.

Trina tells Susan her day is wide open if she wants to hang out.

Tom goes into his meeting with corporate.  They confront him regarding Tammy and his wife's incident.  Turns out Tammy has been talking to other flight attendants.  Corporate is worried that all the liberal women will be upset by this and decide to take Tom off the Miami flight with Tammy and put him on the new Tokyo flight.  Tom just got a promotion.

Janet runs into Susan at the grocery store.  Susan apologizes for the other night and wants to know why Janet isn't returning her calls.  Trina shows up with two melons.  Of course they are pulled up to her boobs in order to show off her own melons......

Susan asks about coming over to bridge tonight.  Janet, who looks pissed that Susan is hanging out with Trina, tells her not to worry. Roger and she have already made other dinner party plans.

B.J, looks out his window to see his neighbor fighting with a man.  The man drives away angry. On his windowsill, B.J finds a note from Samantha with a map of directions and supplies that she needs. Remember she ran away last week.

At summer school, Laurie's teacher offers to raise grades on their recent paper for anyone who reviews his friend's play.  Laurie who got a B on her paper so decides to sign up.

Trina invite Bruce and Susan over for dinner to show that they can still be casual friends.

Tom comes back from his meeting to tell Trina about his promotion.  She is worried about them spending time a part.  Trina tells Tom about the Miller's coming over for dinner.  He's surprised, thinking that they were only a one time thing.

B.J takes his friend Rick to bring supplies to Samantha camping out in the woods.  Rick says that B.J better be banging her for this.  Guess Rick still hasn't learned from his run in with Betsy last week.

Bruce has an excellent day at work and decides to go to the Playboy club with some of his co workers to celebrate.  He calls Susan to let her know not to pick him up but she has already left for the train station.

Susan runs into Roger at the train station.  He had no idea that Janet canceled their evening of cards.  Susan apologizes for the other night but Roger insists that he had fun and Janet will eventually come around.  Susan offers Roger a ride but he turns her down saying it's the only exercise he's getting these days.  Poor guy....Janet needs to loosen up.  Why be married if you can't have sex whenever you want.

Roger arrives home to find Janet entertaining their new neighbors.

Trina, Tom and Susan decide to surprise Bruce by meeting him at the Playboy club.

Logan shows up at Laurie's house.  He brings an Aerosmith record as a peace offering.  Logan offers to drive Laurie to see the play.

Trina, Tom and Susan arrive at the Playboy club.  Bruce is surprised to see Susan.  Tom and Trina run into their old friends Sylvia and Brad.  For the "Boston Legal" fans Brad is played by Mark Valley, aka what I call Ken Doll.  Guess he really likes playing characters named Brad.

Roger is getting extremely annoyed with his new opinionated neighbors.  He bribes his son with 5 dollars to pretend to cut his finger open.  Rick drops a plate and Janet goes running into the kitchen.  The neighbors go home and Janet finds out it was a set up.  She's not thrilled.

Sylvia admits that she used to work at the Playboy club.  It helped pay for her way through law school.  Brad talks about being a Psychologist. Sylvia asks Susan what she does.  Embarrassed Susan says only a house wife and mother.

B.J shows up again outside Samantha's tent.  This time he brought her dinner.  Samantha admits that her dad left for Vietnam when she was 5 and never came home.  She wears his ring around her necklace.  B.J leaves a walkie talkie and tries to convince Samantha to come back home.  Her mom hasn't even noticed she is missing yet.

At the club Tom is dancing with another woman and winks at Trina.  Susan admits to Trina her pack with Bruce. Trina thinks it's good they are both on the same page; after all Tom and her aren't always.

Tom comes over with news of an after party.  Susan and Trina decide to go home.  As they are leaving, Susan notices Sylvia kissing Bruce's cheek goodbye.

At the play Logan is bored and starts yelling things out.  He leaves and comes back after the show is over.  Laurie and he have words and Logan leaves Laurie to find her own ride home.  Laurie's teacher offers to drive her home.  This excites Laurie until she realizes that he has a girlfriend who will be coming with them too.

Janet decides to bring the pie from dinner over to Susan's as a peace offering.  As she is dropping it off the Decker's drop the Miller's off.  Janet tries to leave and Susan tries to stop her.

Samantha uses the walkie talkie B.J gave her.  She's back home again.  Her mom is downstairs with some guy; too busy to even notice.

Janet dries the dishes at home.  Her husband is behind her waiting to be noticed.

Bruce is at home eating pie.

Trina and Tom are getting ready for bed.

Susan finds Sylvia's card in Bruce's coat pocket.  It says "Let's get together."
