We begin this evening of supreme injustice with a futuristic group hip-hop number by newbie Chuck Maldonado that doesn't knock my socks off. It's okay, but the dancers all look like they're extras on Deep Space Nine, or something. Cat, attired in the style of a Greek goddess (which needless to say is a nice look for her), introduces the judges. Toni Basil is sadly still present, and she talks about how hard dancing is and how back in the day learning "street" (of course) was a big challenge. Nigel then gives a badly written PSA about how Americans should vote in the November presidential election. Well, I sincerely hope the results of that vote are better than they are tonight.
Instead of bringing the dancers out in small groups, this week they're making them all wait together backstage (with camera trained on their hopeful faces) and calling them out one by one. Katee's first, and we see clips of her performances last night, as we do for all the dancers. America voted, and...well, at least they got this one right! Katee's safe. Next up is Will, who is safe in the bottom two. What? WHAT? I must have jinxed him by talking about how his solos change every week and he's so versatile. Or perhaps this is a Debbie Allen plot to get herself back on the show as a judge. Fame costs, indeed.
Comfort is trotted out next, and she's rightfully in the bottom two. Then it's Mark, and he's also rightfully in the bottom two safe. Mark looks as gobsmacked as I am. Seriously, that is a shock! Don't get me wrong, I really like Mark. But he was the weakest man last night. His solo was really subpar.
Chelsie is next on the chopping block, but she will live to dance another week, which means Courtney is in the bottom two. But instead of bringing her out next so she can go backstage and prepare, Twitch is summoned. He's in the bottom two, causing him to crouch down with his back to the audience, which is all rather embarrassing. Dude, no one wants to see a grown popper cry. Take it like a man. This means Joshua is safe, and Cat calls him out next and he goes on his merry way to join the other safe dancers.
So now poor Courtney is all alone backstage, and when Cat finally calls her name, we see that poor Courtney has gone to dejectedly sit in a chair in the corner. I do not approve of this leaving everyone backstage and calling them out one by one. I know they're stretching it out for time, but here's a wacky thought: put in another dance number! I know, it's crazy talk.
Aubrey Morgan and Eddy Tovar of the Los Angeles Ballet perform a George Ballanchine pas de deux to "The Man I Love" from the ballet Who Cares? I've become a huge ballet fan in the past year after discovering the National Ballet of Canada's rush ticket deal. Ballet is so much more awesome than I thought it could be. For real, check it out in your city.[/endPSA] Aubrey and Eddy are quite lovely flitting and floating across the stage in blue light, although they don't blow me away. Still, yay for ballet!
Now the bottom four dancers perform their solos. Comfort does the same thing she always does. Will is rather subdued as he dances on and around the edge of the stage. Cat speaks for all of us when she asks Nigel why he thinks Will is in the bottom two. Nigel suspects that America just assumed Will would be safe and threw their votes to dancers they thought were in trouble. It's the only theory that makes sense, in my opinion. Nigel is very upset that Will or Twitch is going home. Join the club, Nigel.
Courtney shakes things up and doesn't do an air-grabbing emo contemporary number, and I quite enjoy her upbeat performance. Twitch pops and locks and awesomely glides across the stage like he's on ice or something. Then it's time for the musical performance, since it was apparently a fluke last week with the girls and guys each doing an additional group number. This week LL Cool J is gracing us with his presence. I stifle a yawn.
Courtney and Comfort await their fate from Cat, and Comfort is sent packing for the second (and hopefully last) time. Then Will and Twitch get the news, and Will is going home. I KNOW. I just don't understand you, America! I think he was the best male dancer on the show and I expected Will and Katee to be the top two. I want to cling desperately to Will's leg. Don't go! Katee now becomes my favourite, with Joshua in second place.
Will takes the news with dignity, and gives Twitch a big, long hug. Aww. After Will's farewell montage, he tells other dancers out there that anything is possible and to work hard, and then turns to the remaining contestants off stage, telling them to "Show 'em what you all got." I ::heart:: Will. He thanks the show for the opportunity. Somewhere, Debbie Allen cackles and prepares her triumphant return to network TV.

I completely agree. America
I completely agree. America definitely got it wrong this week by voting Will off, especially before Twitch and Mark. While I like them both, clearly Will was the best dancer out of the remaning guys. I really thought it was going to come down to Will and Katee. To me, they're the most talented 1's on the show. I still have a feeling Katee might win though.
