Swingtown: Episode 9: Swingus Interruptus

 Lady In RedLady In Red

Finally after weeks of absence Brad and Sylvia are back!  The two of them along with Bruce and Susan are all enjoying political talk and drinks at the Decker's.  Well some are enjoying the political talk.

Trina asks Susan how things are going with Janet.  Susan had lunch with Janet the other day but she knows that Janet is still mad at her regarding Roger and the whole pool party incident.  Trina tells Susan she wants to try and smooth things over with Janet; maybe take her to get a pedicure or something.  Susan suggests that she might want to think of something "a little more Janet."

Roger is at the typewriter working on his resume.  Janet decides since she can type faster that Roger needs her assistance.  She means well but ends up ticking off Roger, suggesting high end careers he isn't interested in so Roger suggests a career in grave digging.

Brad announces that he is writing a book about swinging and invites everyone out to the sex club Pendulum. Too bad Trina and Tom are back to being exclusive.  Trina explains that there is a difference between cheating and swinging.  Brad decides he wants to interview the group for his book.  Bruce quickly objects.  Gee I wonder why.  Could it be he is afraid Susan will find out about his little fling with Melanie??????

Susan and Bruce are both awake in bed.  Bruce tells Susan that he wasn't out with the guys the night of the blackout but that he was at Melanie's house.  Well to his defense, he WAS out first but then decided to go to Melanie's after.

The next morning Bruce can't believe how cool Susan is being about all of this.  Bruce mentions that he has to meet Roger out for a drink first.  Roger is interested in a career in stock market trading. Susan looks like she might not believe this but grabs Bruce passionately, kisses him and suggests they go to the Pendulum club.  She doesn't want sex to control their marriage.  Yeah OK.

Trina shows up at Janet's with muffins still in the baking sheet.  The problem is she didn't put in liners or even spray the baking sheet with Pam so the muffins are stuck in the baking sheet.  Very sneaky....Trina knows Janet likes to be needed and this is just the trick.  Trina apologizes to Janet.  Janet explains that Roger has slowly been changing and she doesn't just mean with his work.  Trina suggests that maybe it is time for Janet to change too.

Bruce and Roger go out for a drink to discuss Bruce's exciting career.  Bruce decides to tell Roger about his fling with Melanie and how cool Susan is being with it, even suggesting they go to the Pendulum club.  Bruce tells Roger that he doesn't think stock trading is the right career choice for him because you have to be a high risk person.  Roger says that he might be right.  You just know now Roger is going to go to the club too to prove that he is a man of high risk........

At Doug's apartment Laurie suggests they go to her house to watch the Republican National Conference.  After all, her parents will be at Pendulum and B.J will be at a party.

Susan goes over to Decker's to try and convince Trina and Tom to go to Pendulum.  Janet shows up with muffin liners and tips for Trina's next batch of muffins, which probably won't be used until she and Janet have another miscommunication.  Janet somehow also gets suckered into going to Pendulum.  Trina loans Janet a hot little red number for the occasion.

At the club a woman wearing a tight pink dress approaches Roger.  She invites Janet and Roger to go on a tour of the "backroom."

B.J shows up with Samantha at Rick's party.  They decide to play pong and Samantha totally kicks all the guys butts.  Rick decides it is time to play spin the bottle

At the Miller's Laurie and Doug are doing a little more than just watching the Republican National Conference.

Susan decides to invite Brad and Sylvia over after the club.  Brad wants to interview them and Susan figured they could take things from there.....

Roger, Janet and the pink lady all stumble out of the "backroom." Janet and Roger decide to go home.

Laurie and Doug are interrupted when her parents show up at home with their guests.  Susan and Bruce both think that Laurie is sleeping over her girlfriend's house.  Laurie and Doug go to hide.

At the Decker's, Janet and Roger show up to return the dress that Janet borrowed.  Pink lady is there and wants to dance with Roger.

Brad starts to interview Susan.  Laurie can't believe it when she hears them talking about her mom's sex life.

Janet apologizes for the stain on Trina's dress.  OK is it me but don't you think Janet would have been freaking out about a cum stain on Trina's dress?  Or maybe my mind just went in the gutter thinking that is what kind of stain it was.  Maybe it was a muffin stain......

Janet and Trina bond when Trina tells Janet about Tom and herself being exclusive again.  I think if this show managed to stay on the air we would see a beautiful friendship develop between these two ladies.  They both could learn so much from each other.

Rick spins the bottle and of course it has to land on Samantha.  He tells Samantha that B.J has a thing for strays and then tries to kiss her.  Samantha being a smart girl punches him in the face.  Gee Rick really needs to keep his getting beat my girls in check.

At the Miller's they are smoking pot and dancing.  To make things interesting they decide to trade partners.

Janet goes back to find Roger and pink lady together.  She is frustrated and runs away.  Tom goes after Janet.  She doesn't think she can compare.  Tom grabs Janet and kisses her, telling her that she is a beautiful woman.

Janet goes back in to ask for the keys from Roger.  Roger decides what he wants most is Janet and they leave the Decker's together.

Things start to get a little heated between Brad and Susan.  Suddenly, Brad decides he wants to make omelets.  Come to find out Brad just likes to watch.  Sylvia grabs Bruce and brings him in the other room.  Doug and Laurie are caught as they are trying to sneak out.

B.J runs after Samantha and the two kiss.  They see everyone fleeing out of B.J's house.

Bruce yells at Laurie for being with her teacher Doug.  Laurie confronts Bruce about what he and Susan were doing that evening.  Bruce proclaims that there is going to be a lot of changes around here.  He doesn't know what but they will be happening.

I know what will be changing......"Swingtown" being on the air.....Poor summer shows.
