This week Blair tortures Chuck but ultimately it's her that wants to give in to temptation, Serena falls for Dan's new friend, J.Hump (as she will now be known) pulls a Cory Kennedy (you better know who she is!) and gets caught by Nate dancing around in her underwear at a strangers loft. Looks like good 'ole J.Hump is going to the dark side! And, believe it or not, this is just the beginning.
Blair's trusty maid wakes her lazy ass up and has some advice for her as she begins her day, "God always watching Miss Blair." If that's the case then Blair better hope that God never comes back to tell all her dirty little secrets. Meanwhile, at the Humphrey's J.Hump is running around like a chicken with her head cut off organizing meetings and whatnot for Eleanor. J.Hump is looking pretty fierce with her new, edgy hairstyle -- even Nate notices the new 'do, J.Hump is too busy admiring his shirtless physique, as I'm sure most of you were. And, if you missed the episode I'm sure most of you are now googling for images.
Blair is walking to school in the rain (gasp!) when Chuck rolls up in his chauffered car. He offers her a ride but just as she's about to get in he tells her that she'll have to say those three words first. She refuses so he keeps on rolling.
J.Hump meets new model, Agnes, and the two seem to click right away. Nate drops by the office to give J a design book that she had forgot at the house. Agnes tells J that Nate clearly likes her, J brushes it off and continues helping Agnes get into some clothes. Eleanor pulls J aside later and tells her that she can't sit in on the Bloomingdale meetings after all the work J has been doing.
Dan and Serena just so happen to run into each other in the courtyard at school. They have some small talk and decide to be friends with benefits again. A short time later Blair drops in on them to whine that she needs help figuring out how to deal with Chuck. Serena passes her onto Dan, who tries to leave at first but then actually agrees to help her. Yes, I know, Dan and Blair working together? Did hell freeze over and are pigs flying? Anyway, he suggests to Blair that she keep torturing Chuck, eventually he'll give in to the temptations. Chuck may act like he's much older but really on the inside he's still just a horny teenager.
After the Bloomingdale meetings Eleanor apologizes to J for being so grumpy earlier. She says she's just been stressed and everyone is pressuring her for next season's designs. She then tells J that the Bloomingdale rep really liked the dress J was wearing and thought it might be part of Eleanor's Spring collection. She has nothing for next season yet and more buyer meetings tomorrow so she more or less guilts J into letting her steal the dress that J designed herself. J agrees but she wants in on the meetings. Eleanor says it's no problem and that everyone will know the name "Jenny Humphrey" when it's over. The only thing is that Eleanor wants J to remake the dress in Eleanor Waldorf fabrics which will require a ton more work, J still agrees to the deal but she's in for one crazy busy night. Keep in mind that Eleanor is the mother of the world's greatest manipulator, Blair.
Speaking of Blair, she's sitting on Chuck's limo waiting for him after school. She follows Dan's advice and tortures Chuck, hiking up her skirt a little to show off her thigh. Chuck immediately gives in and they get in the limo. They head to a bar/lounge nearby. Blair continues trying to seduce him there but she ends up pushing it a little too far when she dumps her drink on his crotch on purpose in order to wipe him dry. Metrosexual Chuck gets up and leaves in a huff whining that Blair ruined his pants.
Serena drops by Bedford Gallery where a new artist is setting up shop for a showing. She meets the artist, Aaron Rose, who is sort of an emo-esque artist. His art is really just words written on the wall, I guess for some people (like me) we see words on the wall, to others it's a masterpiece. Serena gives him a hard time at first telling him that he misspelled some words, Aaron almost has a meltdown but then plays it off. Dan and Vanessa are in another room of the gallery chatting, Blair calls and interrupts them. Vanessa is surprised that Blair would be calling Dan. Blair tells Dan that the seduction techniques don't seem to be working, or as she says it, "there's no hard evidence." That is definitely not the picture that Dan wanted to imagine. Dan tells her that he would bet that Chuck is heading home so he suggests Blair intercept him. She does just that, she beats him there and starts setting up candles in Serena's room. She txts Serena that this should be easy. Chuck sees Blair in the room and comes in. She's teasing him showing off her neck, this is Chuck's weakness. Just as they're about to give in to the temptations Serena txts Blair back which catches Chuck's attention and they both leap for the phone. Chuck grabs it first and sees what Blair sent Serena. He tells her good try and leaves.
Agnes takes J to some hot club and they have a photog following them around everywhere. Apparently Agnes and the photog are boyfriend-girlfriend, sort of. If you're familiar with Cory Kennedy and the Cobrasnake then you probably picked up on the similarities between these characters and those real life people. For those of you not familiar, Cory Kennedy is the "it" girl in L.A. at the moment. She's like the grunge Paris Hilton and she's followed everywhere by her much older sometimes boyfriend photographer, the Cobrasnake. Cory had a guest appearance recently on another CW show that I recap, 90210. Back to the show, Agnes loves J's dress and they decide to switch outfits. They come out looking amazing and the photog is there taking pics of them the whole time as they laugh and party together. Agnes ends up getting a call from other friends who want her to come to the club where they're at. Agnes invites J and tells her one of the friend's is editor at Nylon magazine so it would be a huge opp for her, but J insists that she needs to get home and work on the dress for Eleanor. As J is getting ready to leave she loses Agnes, who is still wearing J's dress, and doesn't find them until after they've left. J tries calling Agnes but only gets her voicemail.
The next morning Agnes shows up at Eleanor's office and apologizes to J. She tells her that she just got her voicemails and is really sorry. J is not happy at all and doesn't want to talk to her. Agnes tells her that she thinks it's ridiculous that J is the one doing all the hard work for Eleanor anyway. She shows J the pics that the photog took the night before at the club and tells J it could almost be an ad campaign for her own line. J thinks the pics look pretty good as well. Agnes asks J if she keeps giving her designs to Eleanor then when she actually leaves Eleanor's to design her own stuff it's going to look just like Eleanor's line. This gets J thinking.
Serena and Blair come to the Bedford Gallery. Serena is really only there because she wants to see Aaron again but she says she's there for Blair to talk to Dan. Blair starts asking Dan for more advice while Serena goes to see Aaron. While talking to Blair he realizes that she does actually love (yep, L-O-V-E) Chuck. She just doesn't want to tell Chuck that she loves him because then he'll see it as him winning the game and treat her like every other girl. Dan tells Blair that she could keep playing this game and never get Chuck or take the risk, say I love you, and maybe get everything.
J gives Eleanor the dress but Eleanor complains that it's not good enough. J tries to make up some excuses but Eleanor says that she saw the pics online of J and Agnes partying the night before. She says she should've never trusted a child to do the work. J finally stands up for herself and goes off on Eleanor that if it weren't for her she wouldn't have any designs. And, J's one dress made Eleanor's show at Fashion Week a hit. J says she's the only designing anything good that any of the buyers actually want. Eleanor tells her to go home, she'll see her on Monday. J says she's taking her dress back, and not just the latest one but the one from Fashion Week too, Eleanor says that if she takes it to never step foot in the office again. J takes the dress anyway and slams the door on the way out.
Blair decides to once again take Dan's advice from earlier. She sends Chuck a txt saying that he wins and to meet her tonight.
Before Blair meets Chuck though she and Serena head to the Bedford Gallery for the opening of Aaron's art showing. It's a huge success with tons of people. Rufus is a little jealous that there's more people there than he ever got for his own art showings, but oh well it's still Rufus's gallery so it's a success for him as well. Serena talks to Aaron and he asks her on a date. She tells him that she's not dating now. He doesn't take no for an answer though, instead he challenges her to solve a little riddle and if she does then she can have him. She laughs but you know she'll be trying to figure it out all night so she can get in his pants. Serena may act like a good girl with Dan but inside she's bad -- bad to the bone. Vanessa tells Dan that she's really disappointed that he would suddenly befriend Blair after what she and Chuck did to her. I guess Dan wasn't aware of what they had done and apologizes. Later he talks to Blair just as she's on her way to meet Chuck on the roof. He tells Blair to be careful with Chuck and make sure he's done playing games. She blows him off and tells him that she knows he'll stop with the games. Whatever you say Waldorf.
Agnes shows up at the art showing. Her photog friend somehow knows Aaron. She tells J that she talked to the Nylon editor and they want to do a feature on J as an upcoming designer. J still hasn't told Rufus about quitting Eleanor's yet, but she gets excited about what Agnes is telling her and decides to head off to the photog's loft. On the way out J runs into Nate. He asks where she's going, he says he was hoping they might actually get to hang out. She then tells him about how she's starting her own clothing line. He expresses his concerns about it but she ignores him and leaves. Is she crazy turning down hanging out with Nate to party with dirty Agnes and her clingy photog friend? J.Hump needs to snap back to reality.
Blair and Chuck meet up on the rooftop. Blair is still thinking about what Dan just said and insists that she and Chuck both say "I love you" at the same time. He doesn't want to and gets mad that she won't just say it. She knows Dan was right that if Chuck won't give a little he's probably just more interested in playing games. Blair ends up leaving upset. She goes back to Serena crying and telling her what happened. Serena goes to Dan and blames him for everything, he sort of makes it worse when he doesn't feel bad for what happened after finding out what Blair and Chuck did to Vanessa before. Now, Serena and Blair are not happy with Dan, who else can he get pissed off? Chuck, of course. Dan finds Chuck and tells him that he's the one who told Blair not to say "I love you."
J.Hump goes to the loft with Agnes and the photog. She's just sitting there while Agnes and the photog are making out. Even while they're making out the photog is still snapping pics. He's a little obsessive I'd say. Agnes and J then start dancing and before you know it Agnes is stripping off her shirt. She then pressures J to do the same, and J does. As they're dancing around in their bra's and the photog is snapping pics, there is a knock at the door. Gee.. I wonder who that could be? It's J's savior, Nate. Agnes lets him in and he sees what is going on and drags J out.
Dan finds Serena as she's leaving the art showing. He apologizes for what happened and then she tells him that she has feelings for Aaron. He says Aaron is a good guy and, if she wants it, she has his blessing to date Aaron. Just then Serena figures out the riddle Aaran posed to her earlier. She realizes that she and Aaron went to camp together in Europe when they were kids. They were friends then, they even pretended to get married, well until Serena ate the ring and then Aaron divorced her. Personally, I would probably dump the chick too if she ate the ring. Serena goes to find Aaron to tell him that she figured it out but she spots him leaving the gallery with another girl on the back of his motorcycle. Looks like that's over before it even began.
Chuck and Blair meet up later and they talk about their feelings. I'm not joking, Chuck and Blair actually discussed feelings. Again, I'm starting to wonder if there are pigs flying around somewhere? Chuck tells Blair that he's worried if they become boyfriend-girlfriend that they'll lose this spark that they have going. Blair says they don't have to be typical movie going, holding hands boyfriend-girlfriend. He says that eventually they will still lose the spark and things will never be the same between them. They both make the tearful decision to let their love wait until they can fall in love without the games. I wonder how long they'll be able to keep this going.
We go back to J.Hump and Nate for the final scene and it's a good one. She's mad at Nate for him ruining everything for her. He's yelling at her for being there with those two losers. And, in the heat of the argument they kiss! It's a little disturbing when you consider in real life Chace is 23 years old and Taylor Momsen, who plays Jenny, is just 15 years old, but it sure looks hot on the show. I wonder how they'll handle the sex scenes between these two.
