Too...much...awesomeness...Calling all Heroes! First off, I don't speak a lick of Latin, but the episode title translates to "I am what you will be." A fair title, given the number of pairings and parallels this time around. The good news is that our favorite turtle does in fact make an appearance this week. Whew. No segmented recapping this week - for once, the show had a direct narrative that plays out in order. Let's begin.
Hiro and Ando are still in Africa with Usutu (the Magical Man has a name, not thanks to the episode, but to my DVR!) Hiro still flat out refuses to go back in tome to stop the villains. Ando argues, saying that he's already been to the future and has witnessed the end of the world. Usutu says that a dark sun (or could it be "son") is on the rise. Hiro must choose a path or have the path chosen for him. He's so mysterious.
Mohinder is outraged that Tracy and Nathan tried to escape from his nest - how dare they?! Mohinder thinks that since their powers were synthetic, it might hold a better answer as to how to cure Maya of her powers. He's doing all of this for her. Mohinder freaks out, grabs Maya, and leaps out the skylight. Meanwhile, Peter is dreaming of when Nathan told him that their father had died. We see last week's scene where Arthur takes Peter's powers. Peter wakes up and he is chained to a gurney at Pinehearst. Daddy Dearest tells him that his powers are gone forever. Mr. Petrelli really does think he's doing all of this for the greater good (including lying about being dead). He says he wants Peter's help to prevent the future that his son has already seen. Peter refuses.
In a better parental moment, Claire and Sandra talk in the car in front of the house. Sandra is so proud of taking out the Puppet Master. The lights outside the house begin to flicker. Inside, they find Lyle on the floor, and he mutters "Bitch is back." Welcome back, Elle! Her face is pulsing with electricity, causing everything to surge. Claire isn't too happy to see her former tormentor, so they have it out. Elle zaps Claire a few times, but pain-resistant Claire shrugs it off. The fight ends when Lyle goes all Dorothy on this Wicked Witch by dousing her with water. Her powers go on the fritz, and she admits she needs help.
Fan service!
Mohinder has brought Maya to Pinehearst, and she lays out on a stretcher. Mr. Petrelli introduces himself to Mohinder, and he thought he was dead too. Nope, he's alive and they are among friends. They talk about curing Maya, and Mo says that he promised to cure her, and would do anything to keep that promise. Mr. Petrelli enters Maya's room and proceeds to take her power! He is able to control it immediately, so we know that he's a badass. Maya's glad, but she's still horrified at Mohinder for what he's done. Mr. Petrelli offers to "cure" Mohinder as well, but Mo warns that his powers come with terrible side effects. He wants to get rid of the things turning him into a monster, but will not give up his powers. Mr. Petrelli shows Mohinder the top-secret power-granting formula, and asks him to recreate the serum, because this serum could effectively take away Mohinder's side effects, but retain his power. Mo's skeptical, knowing people like this always have a hidden agenda. Mr. Petrelli assures him that isn't the case, and tells him that the door is always open should he choose to leave. Mohinder responds by telling him that he'll need test subjects. Creepy.
Angela Petrelli is still in a coma at Primatech. Her mind starts to act up, leading her down a hallway and into Sylar's cell in Lv. 5. She "tells" him that Peter needs his help, and she orders him to get up. He says he can't escape, because they're negating his powers, yet he also wonders how could she be there in his mind? She says that he has no idea what he's capable of, and that he is her favorite. Sylar wakes himself up from his medically induced coma an escapes. On his way out, he gives his mother a kiss on her forehead.
Back at the Bennet house, Elle still can't control her electrical outbursts. She keeps overloading, and it's causing her nothing but agony. She tells Claire that Daphne came to her, trying to recruit her for Pinehearst. Elle came looking for HRG because he always seems to have answers when no one else does. Claire wonders if Pinehearst can fix them both - she thinks she's broken because she can't feel pain. She worries that sooner or later, she won't be able to feel anything at all. They decide to go to Pinehearst together. "Off to see the Wizard" indeed. Meanwhile, at Pinehearst, the Villains congregate and Mr. Petrelli is mad with Daphne - she's failed to recruit Matt Parkman. She says that since he's a mind reader, he was able to see through her recruitment act, but Knox knows this is a lie - he's getting stronger from her fear. Mr. Petrelli tells her that she must now kill Matt. She won't - after all, she's a thief, not a killer. Maury steps up to defend his son, saying that he gave Mr. Petrelli his loyalty in exchange for protecting Matt. Arthur swipes his hand, killing Maury instantly.
Sandra wants to talk Claire out of leaving, suggesting they call HRG. Absolutely not. Elle can't be trusted, but they have to go. In Brooklyn, Matt returns home with the turtle and calls Mohinder, wondering where he has gone to. There's a knock at the door, and it's Daphne, pointing a gun straight at Matt. She tells him that she has to kill him or else the people she works for will kill her. Matt decides to be noble and tells her to kill him, in order to save his life. She drops the gun. Matt reads her mind and learns that his dad is dead.
Arthur Petrelli goes to see Peter, but he's not on the gurney. He's hiding behind the door with a chair, but Arthur telekinetically stops him. Peter knows his father will destroy the world. Arthur restrains Peter, and he is wheeled on the gurney to Mohinder. Mo's ready with an injection - Peter's metabolism makes him a prime candidate for human trials of the miracle serum. Peter tells him that they spoke in the future, and that Future Mohinder said that all of this is wrong. Mo wants to know what he looked like in the future, and Peter tells him he's a monster. Mo figures it is too late, and goes to inject Peter, when suddenly he is thrown against the wall! Sylar enters, killing the lab tech. Sylar frees his brother, but Mohinder pounces on Sylar. Mr. Petrelli tries to zap Peter but he manages to get away. Arthur tells Sylar he's been waiting a long time to see him.
Nathan has called the Company, and he and Tracy wait. Tracy's curiosity gets the better of her and wonders if the people in Mo's cocoons are alive, or even human. She tries to free one, but the cocooned man reaches out and tries to choke her. From behind her, HRG manages to get a shot off with a taser, freeing her. Oh, and HRG isn't alone - Meredith is with him! Looks like he's got a new partner. Meredith hasn't seen Nathan in a while, despite the fact that Claire is their daughter. Meredith spots Tracy and comments on the junior senator's taste for blondes. By the way, there's a nice fire and ice dichotomy to this meeting.
Claire and Elle are on a plane, headed for New Jersey, but Elle's powers freak out - she's not a good flier. She releases a jolt (that no one sees) and the plane dips. Claire tells her to snap out of it and criticizes her "agent" skills. To be fair, Elle had this life forced upon her by her father. She freaks out again and the plane is seriously going down. Claire takes Elle's hand and tells her to release her power into her - she can't feel it and can take it. Elle does so and the plane levels out. Claire's hand is burned, but that's quickly fixed.
Daphne warns Matt that the Villains will come after them. She's right - Knox is right outside the door. He gets strong on their fear and kicks down the door. Daphne tries to make a run for it but Knox sticks out his arm. Daphne runs into it and is knocked out. Matt tries to mess around in Knox's head, threatening him with his worst fears. Knox is strong minded, and continues to use the fear to get even stronger. He breaks free of Matt and punches a hole straight through Matt's chest! Knox leaves, his mission accomplished. Once he is clear, the image of the bodies on the floor melts away - turns out Matt was using mental projection to make Knox think he killed him. Daphne is overjoyed and ends up giving Matt a quick kiss. He likes it. Matt insists that he will not run from these people, but will fight them. He'll need some help in doing so, and so he's going to have to turn to the Company.
Flint tells Mr. Petrelli that there's no sign of Peter, and he must be long gone. Mr. Petrelli doesn't think so, and tells Flint not to kill Peter if he finds him. Sylar is hanging in midair, held up by his father's power. Arthur insists that Angela is a horrible person, and that she can never forgive Sylar's sins - Sylar insists that he's bad too, but he can change. Arthur is too smart for all of this - he knows that Angela sent Sylar to save Peter, but in actuality, she's using him. Peter is really her favorite. The truth is that when Sylar was born, Angela had one of her visions. Sylar says that she told him this, that he'd be a hero. Wrong. Angela knew he'd becomes something horrible, so she tried to kill him. Arthur walked in on her trying to drown Sylar and saved his life. Wow.
Peter is trying to get out of the Pinehearst building when he sees Mohinder. Mo spots Maya in the lobby and goes to her. She's checking out the contents of an envelope, in which there is money and a US passport. Maya thanks Mohinder for curing her, but she can not, nor ever trust him ever again. He insists he has real feelings for her, but she says that they each have things they must make amends for - him for killing and kidnapping, and her for the innocent people she accidentally killed with her power. Outside, Claire and Elle approach, with Elle's powers still going nuts. Elle thanks Claire for helping her on the plane, and Claire returns the thanks, saying that they'll be able to get fixed together. Inside, Peter has had no luck escaping, but manages to find Sylar. Peter tries to convince him to escape with him, but Sylar won't - he knows he's a horrible person and is going to prove him right. Right in front of dear old dad, Sylar pushes Peter out of a 7 story window.
Peter lands on the pavement not far from Claire and Elle. He is alive, but badly hurt. Claire freaks out when she sees that he isn't healing, and he tells her that it is because his powers were taken away. Claire says they have to get him away from there, but Elle won't go. If Peter could have his powers taken away, then she wants that too. She enters the building, alone. Claire wonders how Peter managed to survive that fall.
Nathan, Tracy, HRG, and Meredith discuss Mohinder's attack and what he did to them. All he did was inject them with sedatives, but they'll have to be taken to the Company so a full set of tests can be performed. Nathan's phone rings and he excuses himself. Meredith tells Tracy to be careful around Nathan, but Tracy insists they aren't together. Meredith isn't so inclined to believe that. Nathan is on the phone with Claire, who tells him what just happened.
Back at Pinehearst, Sylar and Mr. Petrelli know that Peter survived the fall. Unfortunately, revenge is in Petrelli blood, so rather than waiting around, they'll take the fight to their enemies. But Arthur is rather curious as to how Peter could survive the fall. No matter - he talks to Daphne on the phone. She is still working for him, and that things are going according to plan. Arthur says that better be so, or else he'll put her back "where he found her." Hmm, interesting.
Peter and Claire talk about what happened inside. Peter's fairly certain that Sylar wasn't trying to kill him, but was saving his life - Sylar could have killed him any number of ways, but he managed to get him out of the building. He cushioned the fall, but couldn't prevent all of his damage. Nathan and Tracy show up, and Nathan immediately notices that Peter isn't healed. Peter tells him that their dad is alive and took his powers. He wants to kill them all, and he's the one who put Angela into a coma. Peter warns his brother to stay away, but Nathan wants to know where he is. Claire tells them, and Nathan assures his brother that there are other ways to shut down a bio-tech firm. He's off to tell the justice department what is going on. He and Tracy leave, but Nathan wants to know how she knew what Pinehearst was - Tracy's been accepting a "consulting fee" from them. Naturally, he's not going to use his political influence; he's off to confront his father.
Back in Africa, Usutu is preparing the spirit walk paste. This is a recipe that's been in his family for 1000 years. He knows that Hiro will not go back in time, so he gives him some of the paste, and some to Ando as well. Hiro eats it, in hopes that it will help him understand his enemies and find their weaknesses. Ando is too grossed out by it to eat it. Hiro's eyes go white and he collapses. Usutu says that since he did not choose his own path, his path has been chosen for him, and he warned him of exactly that.
That's all for now. In two weeks, we take a trip to the past, "before the heroes were heroes" and the "villains were villains". This is the oldest trick in the superhero book - the secret origin! See you in two weeks.

When he pulled out the NG tube from his nose, it appeared to be about 1/4 inch deep in his nose. I laughed so loud.
