This week Samantha's words of wisdom involve discussing time travel. Every day we remember the past or plan for the future. The hardest thing though is staying in the present. Probably because none of us want to deal with it...
Samantha is waiting in her doctor's office with Regina. She's a little worried that doc wanted to meet with her and assumes that something is wrong.
OMG the doctor is none other than Tony Hale, aka Buster Bluth from "Arrested Development." If you haven't watched all 3 seasons of this amazing sitcom you have to run to the store now! This is one of those series that in order to understand and appreciate you must watch it from the beginning.
Dr. Andy wanted to meet with Samantha to inform her of a clinical trial they are having for a new drug that helps memory loss. Suddenly Regina remembers that Dr. Andy did tell her this when he left a message on the machine. Sounds like Regina could benefit from being in this clinical trial too.
Samantha brags to Andrea at the coffee shop about being picked to do this study; as if it's some kind of honor. Samantha has a flashback. She's breaking someone's car window with a bat. Andrea tells her she's got the wrong car. The guy they hate has his car in the next row. Samantha comes back to the present and leaves in a huff to figure out what all of this means.
A cute guy walks by and stops to pet Dena's dog. Andrea tells the cute guy that it's her dog while Dena corrects Andrea saying she's really the owner. The cute guy thinks it's great that the dog has 2 mommies. OMG he totally thinks they're gay!
Samantha arrives back at her apartment only to have another flashback. This time she remembers Frank's first day as her door man. He introduced himself while Samantha interrupted him to say the only thing she needs from Frank is for him to open the door for her and hail cabs.
Samantha runs upstairs and tells Todd about her clinical trial. Todd blows her off a little because he's on his way out the door to look at another apartment. The one he looked at yesterday had a strange smell. As Todd walks out the door Samantha flashes to Todd slamming the door and yelling goodbye. Samantha overwhelmed by all these memories calls her Mom to see if she can come over.
As Regina tucks Samantha into bed Regina mentions sometimes she wishes she could remember things like the summer before she had Samantha. Regina pops a pill into her mouth. Suddenly Regina remembers that Todd and left a message that he found an apartment. Samantha is a little surprised.
She flashes to Todd picking her up for their first date. However, all Samantha had in mind was him driving her to the airport. Todd takes her bags out of the car and drives away.
Still in the past Samantha decides to go out with Andrea. She can't believe that Todd still hasn't called her. She tells Andrea that he doesn't get to be the one to choose.
When Todd still doesn't called Samantha decides to take matters into her own hands. She calls Todd and pretends to be Mrs. Butterworth we needs family pictures taken. When Todd arrives at her apartment she tells him he can take naked pictures of her.
Todd is impressed how much work Samantha put into seeing him again. Samantha must really like him. Todd suggests that she put some clothes on so they can go out for a bite to eat; that is unless Samantha isn't used to doing things in that order. Samantha slams the door in his face.
At the coffee house, Dena comes in and slaps Andrea's ass. Andrea is offended and says if she was gay she wouldn't be with someone like Dena. Her type is more like Carol from payroll. Dena laughs because she knows Carol would never be into Andrea.
Samantha's phone rings. It's Dr. Andy checking in. Doc tells Samantha to throw the pills away. Some people have been having slight side effects and they are shutting the study down. Doc suggests that maybe they can make their own memories together.
Samantha hangs the phone up and proceeds to throw the pills down the drain. Suddenly she flashes to seeing a diamond ring. However it quickly vanishes, along with the pills.
Samantha runs back to Dr. Andy's office and begs him for one more pill. Doctor explains that once the pills wear off she won't remember any of the memories that have been coming back.
Dena and Andrea both flirt with Carol from payroll in the elevator at work.
Samantha has another flashback in bed with Todd; feeling completely happy. Next she flashes to Todd on his hands and knees pulling a ring out. Samantha freaks out when Todd asks her to marry him. Todd tells her she's just afraid. He gets mad, puts the ring behind her book shelf and storms out.
Samantha leaves a message for Todd that she remembers the proposal. Samantha looks around for a pen to write down the proposal information before she forgets it but has to settle for a woman's coral lipstick. Coral really? Is this 1985?
Samantha then flashes to Todd breaking up with her. She runs out of the restaurant and is just about to get hit by the car........MMM I'm kind of surprised that they didn't address this flashback more after it happened.
Samantha in the present arrives back at home. She goes to confront Todd about the proposal but forgets what she wants to talk to him about. Samantha remembers that she wrote herself a note on her hand about it. Crap the lipstick is smudged and she can't read the message.
Todd sees that they have a voicemail and he goes to listen to it. When he hears it's only Samantha he deletes it before listening to the whole thing. Damn Todd is one friggen idiot. I kind of hope Samantha doesn't end up with him.
At work, Andrea tries to flirt with Carol again. Carol however, feels like Andrea is stalking her and plans on turning Andrea into HR. Dena shows up to change her mind. Carol decides she won't turn Andrea in because of Dena.
Andrea wants to know why Carol doesn't find her attractive. Dena tells her that she can't be both pretty inside and out. Andrea looks heartbroken but is quickly changes her tune with Dena tells her that she is very pretty on the outside.
Todd finds out that he lost the apartment. Samantha decides that Todd should stay at her place. She feels bad about all the things she's done to Todd in the past.
Samantha and Todd decide to be just friends. Samantha starts to help Todd unpack by placing his books back on the shelf. The ring is still there behind all of his books. Of course, Samantha doesn't notice this.
