Entourage: Pie (Episode #63)

Not one of my favorite episodes this season.  Not at all.  Actually, it was a fairly uneventful and rather boring episode.  Worst to date.  But enough complaining, on with the recap.

Vince is finally starting Smoke Jumpers, and the boys have followed him out to farm country for filming.  Drama is taking the country boy thing a little too seriously.  Especially when he wakes up the entire house by banging together two pans.  Vince seems very nervous this morning.  As he should be.  This is his comeback, he may never have another chance.

After flipping Drama off his mattress to wake him up, Drama realizes Vince is already awake.  When Vince tells Drama he isn't hungry for breakfast, Drama immediately realizes something is wrong.  Vince is scared.  Very, very scared.  Even with the best of intentions, Johnny isn't making things easier.  Enter Jason Patrick, star of Smoke Jumpers.  As if things weren't bad enough for Vinnie.

The boys walk up to set and realize just how big this film is.  Explosions everywhere, fires in all directions, Vince really needs to step up his game.  Meanwhile, Ari is trying his damdest to get out of lunch with his former mentor Andrew Klein.  Lloyd with have nothing of the sort.  He forces Ari to go and reminisce, and change his watch as to not make Andrew feel bad about how much money he makes.

While Drama is trying to give Vince acting advice, E is busy telling him how he messed up his lines.  Poor Vince can't catch a break.  His life sucks more when he realizes the director just wants to start shooting, no rehearsal.  And although Jason seems like a great guy to co-star for, Vince quickly learns how difficult he is to work.  Probably because he keeps stealing Vince's lines, and the director isn't doing a damn thing about it.

While Vince deals with the line theft, Ari meets his former friend at a quaint little family restaurant.  Not exactly Ari's type of crowd.  Shortly after meeting, (very shortly) Andrew asks Ari for a $50,000 loan to fix his business.  While at first he was pissed off, after looking over Andrew's paperwork, Ari realizes he should actually buy the business.

Around the lunch buffet, the guys discuss Jason's crazy tendency's.  E is trying to convince Vinnie that it was just probably an accident.  Doubtful.  Anyway, Vince goes to talk to Jason about the "misunderstanding." While beating the hell out of his punching bag/assistant, Vince attempts to discuss the line stealing situation.  Let's just say, Vince didn't a get word in edge wise.  In Turtle's words, "you pussed out." Yes, he did.  Next up, the director.

Before Vince finds the director, Jason realizes his chair name-tag has been taken.  Obviously Turtle did it, however, he and Drama decided to sneak it into Jason's trailer instead.  Seems to have worked.  For now.  While filming another scene, Jason again steals Vince's line, prompting him to definitely have a convo with the director.  Who, in turn, tells Vince he know exactly what is going on, but refuses to do anything about it as to not piss off Jason.  He tells Vince he is stable, and doesn't have to worry about losing him.  Vinnie does not like the way things are going.

Ari is really trying to close this new business venture when he is thrown for a loop.  It seems Andrew doesn't really want to sell it.  Ari tells him the loan is still there if he wants it, however there is a better offer on the table.  They both order double scotches on the rocks, and the negotiations (or bullshitting, whichever you would like to call it) begin. Mostly just Ari spouting off, he seems to be very convincing.  Selling the idea of a "team," Ari gets Andrew to agree.  Andrew frantically gets up, and Ari calls his partner, who does not agree with Ari's decisions.  If I know Ari, he is going to do what he wants.

Meanwhile, the boys end there rough day at a hoe down.  Turtle, in an attempt to cheer Vince up, goes to get him his favorite, banana cream pie off the buffet stand.  Pie in hand, Turtle turns to see Jason, who, of coarse, steals the last piece meant for Vince.  Well, Vince has enough, and calls Jason over to ask him why he stole the pie from Turtle.  On the same subject, he calls him out about stealing his lines as well.  Vince learns Jason was actually given the lines by the director.  Vince is pissed.  Extremely pissed.
