How I Met Your Mother: Happily Ever After: Episode 406

 Finally Things Getting Back To Normal

We flash back right where we left off 2 weeks ago. Ted is reading the note Stella left him, ending their relationship and Stella is kissing Tony on the ferry.

Later on at the bar, Ted confesses how much he believed Stella was the one.  But finally the painful part is over.  Ted got through it and even admits to the crew that he hardly thinks about Stella anymore. 

This is hilarious because Lily points out that the wedding was only yesterday.  Instead of being upset Ted decides that they need to celebrate the new chapter in his life by listening to Kool & The Gang. Ted runs up to feed some quarters into the jukebox.

Barney believes that Ted really is happy.  He just pulled off not getting married.  Lily however thinks that Ted is really sad and tells the crew that they all need to be there for Ted.

We flash to Lily and Robin bringing pizza and beer over for Ted.  Then Marshall asking Ted if he wants to play catch. Lastly, Barney bringing over two girls; well I take that back.  Both girls are for Barney. The point is that Ted keep telling everyone that he is fine.

Finally after two weeks of being fine the crew becomes impatient with Ted.  They want to know why Ted isn't showing any of his emotions. Marshall even suggests that Ted get angry with his feelings.  Barney however chooses to look at the positive side. If Ted got married he would be married, living in New Jersey and well married.....

Barney does have a point.  Stella just wasn't right for him.

Barney asks if they can just go eat.  Of course Ted has to have a problem with every restaurant the crew picks.  They all are in areas where he might run into Stella for someone reason or another. 

Ted pulls out a map that shows all the areas in red where he might have an encounter with Stella.  Lily suddenly remembers a tapas place someone told her about that isn't in Ted's red zone. Ted agrees to go and explains that people from Ohio avoid confrontation. Why would you confront something when you can avoid it? A motto I live by....

At the restaurant, Lily sees Stella and suddenly remembers who told her about the restaurant.  Ted then sees Stella and starts to freak out.  He dives under the table forcing the crew to join him. 

Marshall peaks his head out to check out the situation.  He discovers that Stella doesn't need utensils because she's placing an order to go. 

Lily tries to encourage Ted to talk to Stella. After all, Ted may be from Ohio but he now lives in NYC and people from NYC shove their feelings in other people's faces all the time.

Ted totally calls Lily out on this. He knows she would never want to see Gasser.  Lily freaks out.  Turns out this guy Michael Sasser, who was in Lily's 9th grade science class was an up and comer for the popular clan. 

Gasser used to be a dork but suddenly grew 12 inches and even started playing on the baseball team.  This all ended though when Lily let a huge fart out in class.  Instead of taking the blame she told everyone it was Michael who did it or Gasser, which was the nickname she gave him after the incident.  The nickname stuck.  Things got so bad for Gasser that he had to change schools.

Barney says that he would never hide from any of the girls he's banged and trust me there have been a lot of them.  Ted mentions even Becca? OK so Barney used to date this girl upstate who was in prison.  He claims it was a perfect relationship.  She could only call him once a week and he never had to pay for dinner.

One day at prison, Barney decided to hit on a different woman. Becca freaked and beat the shit out of her.  Barney loving a good fight between women took pictures. 

Marshall sticks his head out from under the table and discovers that Stella is gone.  The crew head back up and quickly dive back under when they discover Stella hasn't gone anywhere.

Robin thinks that Ted doesn't need to talk things over with Stella.  She hasn't talked to her dad in 3 years.  It all started when Robin was first born.  Her dad wanted a son.  Her parents ended up making her middle name Charles. 

Then when she was 8, her dad forced her to hunt even though she thought deer were too pretty to kill.  Things started changing though as Robin grew older.

When she was 14, her pee wee hockey team won the championship. To celebrate she made out with one of her team members. Dad freaked out and told Robin that team members don't make out with each other.

After Robin's dad realized that he didn't have a son she grew her hair out and become a pop star; you know all the normal things a teenage girl does.

Robin explains that she can't talk to her dad about this. It's all in the past now.  Is she supposed to tell him how she wishes he hadn't taught her to hunt, fish, smoke cigars or drink scotch?  Robin begins to cry a little.

Finally another small piece to the puzzle that is Robin.  She is afraid of commitment because she was brought up to be a guy!!!!!!

Ted realizes that he needs to talk to Stella. Of course since he took FOREVER deciding this he JUST misses her. Ted runs out and grabs a taxi to follow Stella

In the taxi, Marshall tries to get Ted upset by admitting that Stella really doesn't like the movie "Star Wars;" as if that was the answer to whether or not Ted and Stella belonged together....

Lily realizes that Stella missed the turn to New Jersey.  Ted realizes she's heading "home" to Tony's. He can't believe that Stella would make him move to New Jersey but would be willing to move back to the city for Tony.

When Stella gets out of the cab Ted tells her that she picked the wrong guy and how she is going to regret the decision.  Stella admits that she knows she made the biggest mistake of her life.

Of course Ted really doesn't tell Stella all of this.  He tells the crew in the taxi that that is what he's going to tell Stella.

Ted gets out of the cab for real but when he sees Tony and Stella's daughter greet her at the front door Ted realizes he isn't angry anymore.  Ted lets it go and discovers he is finally ready to move on.

THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh in other news, Allison Hannigan is pregnant!!! Congrats! I wonder if Lily is going to become pregnant on the show now????????
