It's back to Pine Valley for Erica Kane! After an excruciating performance in the group cha cha Monday night, Susan Lucci solidified her stance as the worst of the remaining celeb dancers. Girlfriend has one heck of a positive attitude, but those frail little legs of hers just weren't doing the trick. Her dances were weak and repeatedly failed to excite the judges, so it wasn't a surprise she was axed Wednesday, leaving Maurice, Brooke, Warren, Lance and Cody left to duke it out for a spot in the final three.
First to be revealed safe from elimination, Maurice Greene was clearly pumped. He's had a rough couple weeks, and Monday's jive officially put him back in the game. There's no doubting his dedication to his performances; the sticky part, however, will be learning to interact with Cheryl during the lovey dovey numbers, not just the spunky, fun ones.
Brooke Burke and partner Derek were obviously safe again Wednesday after a perfect 30 foxtrot. Despite an injured foot, Brooke keeps chugging along, and proved last week's less-than-perfect performance was a fluke. She's the real deal and even looked good next to Kym and Cheryl in the group paso doble. Impressive.
Another disappointing week for Warren Sapp and partner Kym. Warren seems to be in a bit of a standstill, winking and floating through routines with not much difficulty or content. Next week needs to be a turning point, otherwise, our gentle giant will likely get the heave-ho.
Shoes or no shoes, Lance Bass and Lacey are still in the good graces of their at-home fans. While the judges were split on L&L's Monday night rumba, they were all in complimentary agreement over their role in the group cha cha. L&L were the single best part of that entire routine, not to mention the only ones who appeared to have any rhythm!
With his temporary partner by his side, Cody Linley and Edyta barely made it past this elimination round. After a clumsy Viennese waltz and a not-so stellar go in the group paso doble, Cody showed that his strength lies in having Julianne as his running mate.
Next week, the five remaining couples take on two new dances--including lifts and solos.
