This week is a special music episode, no not a musical, just a music themed episode. Peyton is putting on a show for USO and we get to see the likes of Bethany Joy Galeotti (who plays Haley), Kate Voegele (who plays Mia) and Angels and Airwaves (who play themselves) perform. You don't want to miss this!
Haley is first to perform but she is overtaken with anxiety and can't perform. Before you start feeling too bad though, you'll be happy to know this is all just a nightmare. Haley wakes up from it and tells Nathan her fears of performing in front of such a large crowd again, he reassures her that it will be fine.
Brooke wakes up to find Sam has made her breakfast for a change. As they're enjoying breakfast together and chatting about Angels and Airwaves, Brooke gets a call from the adoption agency. They have another potential baby for her to adopt. Brooke and Sam both look stunned.
And, then you have Milli who comes home to find Gigi in her bed and Mouth on the couch. The shit is about to hit the fan. Instead of confronting the two right then and there she plots a better revenge against Mouth. She goes to her car and then call him to let him know that she'll be home in just a few minutes, he doesn't mention Gigi so she makes sure to let him know that she's not stupid, she tells him to get that slut out her bed and hangs up. He rushes to get Gigi out of bed and out the door but Gigi just takes her time. It's ok though, Milli isn't going home to his possibly cheating ass, instead she goes to Brooke's to vent to her. Brooke is surprised that Mouth would have Gigi there but then she reassures Milli that Mouth would not cheat, she knows Mouth and that's not the guy he is. Milli says that Mouth may have a reason to cheat, they haven't been having sex. Milli admits to Brooke that she's actually still a virgin. Brooke can't believe it.
Peyton and Luke sort of make up, but really Luke is just pretending everything is ok. He tells Peyton that it's all ok, but clearly it's not because later he goes to Julian's hotel room and punches him. He goes to Nathan's afterward and Nathan tells him that sometimes it's better to just walk away, as if he's one to talk. Peyton is off working on her USO concert and Sam is her helper today, she's basically Peyton's bitch today because she's trying to pay back Peyton for ruining her wedding dress. They talk throughout the day and of course Peyton's family is brought up since Peyton is doing the USO show for her brother, and Sam mentions that Brooke may be getting a baby, which she tells Peyton will mean she's out the door again.
Milli finally goes home to confront Mouth. He tells her that he and Gigi stayed late at work and were drinking and he didn't want her to have to drive home or take a cab alone so he figured it'd be better if she just crashed at their place. He realizes it wasn't the brightest thing but he was just trying to be a good guy. He says nothing happened. Milli tells him that there is a new rule, no one but them can sleep in their bed and she says he needs to burn the sheets. Not too bad for just getting caught having another girl in your bed, Mouth.
Nathan is alone at home now and as he's trying to watch the Slam Ball tournament, which he's not participating in because he quit, he keeps having visions of Quentin. At first he talks to Quentin and things seem fine, but then as the night goes on Quentin keeps pushing Nathan to not give up on his dreams. He's mad at Nathan because he got a second chance and he's not even taking advantage of it, Quentin didn't get a second chance. Is he seriously arguing with a dead person or just his own conscious?
While Nathan is at home watching a game with a dead person, Haley is off at the USO show getting ready to perform. Just before she goes on she starts freaking out but luckily Mia shows up and tells her that she'll do great. Haley does do great, in fact she does phenomenal. I have to say that it's amazing to finally hear a new single from Bethany Joy Galeotti. She has such a good voice. I wish she'd put out a CD after all this time. Anyway, the performance goes off without a hitch and then Mia goes on and does her thing. Of course, Mia is played by singer Kate Voegele, so we get treated to a wonderful performance by her.
Julian shows up at the show looking for Luke but runs into Peyton first. She tries to blow him off but he's not about to give up. While he's chatting with Peyton, and she's trying to ignore him, Brooke is talking to Luke and telling him that he can't be mad because Peyton and Julian hooked up well after she had moved to LA just as he hooked up with Lindsey. She tells him that they need to make up. Luke says he would but then sees Peyton and Julian and asks Brooke how he's supposed to squeeze between them.
Mouth is back at work and Gigi is once again hitting on him. He tries to just ignore her flirting again but we know that hasn't worked thus far. Milli shows up at the station without Mouth knowing and tells Gigi that she needs to back off. She warns her to stay away or else. Gigi goes back to Mouth a little while later and asks him to walk her to her car. She says with Quentin's killer still on the loose and all that she doesn't feel safe. As they're walking out to the car we see that Milli is still in the parking lot watching them, and Gigi knows this. Gigi tells Mouth that she'll try to be more respectful of he and Milli's relationship but then she gives him a hug, and you know this pisses Milli off.
Back to the concert, Julian tries to put the moves on Brooke but she ignores it. Peyton finds them and tells Julian not to flirt with her friend and then they walk out. They have to go introduce Angels and Airwaves on stage now. Surprisingly, Peyton has to introduce Brooke to the crowd. I find it funny how she's supposedly this really famous designer, yet no one seems to care that she suddenly went from being a celebrity in NYC to a nobody in Tree Hill, and now at the concert no one seems to know who she is. I think the writers are confused. Anyway, they introduce Angels and Airwaves and we get to hear a little bit from them, though not nearly as much as I had hoped. After they introduce them then Peyton and Brooke go backstage and Peyton mentions to Brooke what Sam said earlier about how if Brooke adopts a new baby she's probably going to get rid of Sam. Brooke once again has to go reassure Sam that she's not going anyway, she tells her that her home is now their home.
We go back to Luke who is now chatting with Julian. He tells Julian that he doesn't want a movie made about his book, well he at least doesn't want Julian to do the movie. Julian tells him that's too bad because he already signed over the option, so at this point Luke can't say no.
Nathan's night gets a little exciting. His Slam Ball team won the championship! I'm still confused of why Nathan would stay home to watch the game instead of seeing his wife perform for the first time in years. It seems way out of character for him. Anyway, he's still arguing with dead Quentin. He tells Quentin that every day he gets to spend with Haley and Jamie is a dream come true, so that's his second chance.
The USO show comes to a close and it was a huge success. Sam and Mia become friends backstage. Sam asks Mia for her autograph but instead Mia gives her her phone number and tells her they should hang out. She tells Sam that she knows how boring Peyton and Brooke can be.
Peyton and Luke make up and he tells her about Julian making the movie anyway. Peyton goes to Julian to find out why he's trying to be trouble. He tells her that the movie probably won't even get mad without Luke, so she asks to convince Luke to do it. She tells him that he better be honest from here on out. Peyton goes back to Luke and tells him what Julian said and he agrees to give things another try and let the past be the past.
Brooke calls the social worker about the potential adoption but when she mentions that she's fostering Sam the worker tells her that changes the whole case. It doesn't sound like Brooke will be getting the baby and now Sam feels like it's all her fault.
Haley goes home and Nathan says he's so proud of her but bummed he didn't get to see her, so he asks her to give him an encore. They both promise they won't give up on their dreams. Let's just hope this doesn't mean another season of Slam Ball. After Haley goes to bed Nathan sees Quentin, again, and he tells Nathan, "live the life. live the dream. no fear!"
The next episode is the making of Luke's movie. Yes, it's happening just that fast. The movie is set in what looks to be the roaring 20's so it's going to be a wild episode.
