TV News Update: 'Pushing Daisies' Hanging On By A Stem

The official word, according to executive producer Bryan Fuller, is "We honestly don't know yet. We've asked ABC what our future is, and the response has been wait and see, wait and see...We don't know yet, and I'm not sure they know. I think they're waiting on a few factors."

TV Guide reports that former Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff is returning to television. NBC has signed Duff to a one-year talent and development contract. Duff will reportedly star in her own series, and guest star on other NBC shows. "Hilary is an incredibly versatile talent with a huge following whose career we know will continue to soar on NBC," said NBC VP Teri Weinberg.

TV Guide reports that former SNL regular Maya Rudolph will guest-star on an upcoming episode of NBC's Kath & Kim. Rudolph will play a spiritual advisor to Molly Shannon's character's husband on how to lose weight and Shannon develops a crush on her.

Yahoo! News spoke to Sopranos creator David Chase on the release of every season of the Sopranos in one DVD set. Chase responds to questions about why Tony Soprano didn't become more moral over the course of 86 episodes by saying "And this, to me, is amazing because you wonder, "Do people pay attention to the story?" In Season One, the guy's mother tried to murder him. So, he, of all people, is supposed to rise above that and be happier than he was before that happened? It doesn't make any sense at all. He never got over that."
