The Simpsons: Mypods and Broomsticks (Episode #2007)

Christmas time is over in Springfield, and all Lisa wanted under her tree was a brand new mypod.  Obviously on Homer's salary this was not going to happen.  The family takes off to the Springfield Mall, under the restriction they can return one unwanted gift.  Everyone decides to return Bart's gift, a Kitten Kalendar.  That's when Lisa sees it. The new Mapple store has finally arrived at the Springfield Mall.

Mypods and Myphones galore, Lisa is a kid in a candy store.  She realizes she can't afford anything in the store and asks the clerk if she can by fake Mypod earphones to pretend like she has a Mypod.  The clerk laughs and pulls out Myphonies, costing a whopping $40.  Lisa is heartbroken.  Thinking she will never get a mapple anything, Krusty comes into the store complaining about his Mypod.  When everyone ignores his ranting a raving, Krusty gives Lisa his Mypod.  She is finally a Mapple person.

Getting the attention of the entire store, Mapple founder Steve something or other is giving a speech to entice buyers to, well, buy.  That is, until Bart does some voice over work changing his speech from flattery to evil.  The crew at the Mapple store chase Bart out by using their Mypod headphones.  While Bart is running from the angry Mapple mob, he stops to smell the food.  Literally.  With the smell of beef and a rug store filling the air, Bart is drawn in.  This is where he meets Bashir, son of a new family in town from Jordan.  While Bart tries to show him the ropes, he tells Bashir not to tell anyone that he is a different religion, or else.  Too bad Jimbo and crew overheard the boys, now Bart has to defend his new Islamic friend.  The tables turn and Jimbo and his friends start beating on each other.

Meanwhile, Lisa is showing off her new Mypod, bragging about all the new songs she just downloaded, including a special Itchy and Scratchy episode.  Itchy takes off to Studio 54 after killing Scratchy, classic.  Anyway, Bart is really taking in the Islamic culture.  Lenny and Carl are giving Homer a hard time about his son's new friend.  Moe convinces Homer Bashir's family is terrorist.  Surprise Surprise, Homer actually believes them.  After inviting Bashir's family for dinner, Homer makes a total ass out of himself, with help from Lenny on his shoulder.  Homer brings out a cake frosted with the American flag, and tries to get Bashir's father to cut it.  After refusing, Bashir and his family leave because of Homer's terrible attitude.  Marge sends him over to apologize, where he sees Bashir's father playing with dynamite in the garage.  Trying to flee the scene of the crime, quietly, Homer runs into three trashcans and drum symbols on his way out.  Surprisingly, no one hears him.

Homer runs home to tell Marge about his findings, when he has a dream he is floating on an Aladen like carpet.  Obviously, a Genie pops out to show Homer his views on society.  Convincing him the terrorist threat is real, Homer vows to save Springfield.  Meanwhile, Lisa gets her first Mypod bill of $1200.  Lets just say, she is not happy.  And Homer, well, he is busy hearing what he wants to hear, like that Bashir's father loves to blow up buildings.  After sneaking his way into Bashir's home, Homer flirts with his mother for a moment before finding their family computer.  He sees what he thinks are plans to blow up the Springfield Mall.  He runs through the mall telling everyone to leave when he sees Bart outside about to pull the trigger of the explosives.  Homer runs to save the day by taking out all the dynomite and throwing it into the river, instead blowing up a bridge.  Not just any bridge,  but the bridge connecting Duff Brewery to the mainland.  Homer obviously jumps in after the beer.  And all is forgiven when he realizes Bashir's dad was blowing up the old mall, and safely.  The Simpsons now have a new family of friends.  But Lisa is too busy traveling to the bottom of the ocean to meet these new friends.  She is going to talk to the head of Mapple to get her bill reduced due to being unkowledgeable about the product and its fees.  She instead picks up a job handing out flyers outside the Mapple store. Think Differently.
