TV News Update: SAG Award Nominees For Television Announced

Alec Baldwin in 30 RockTV Guide reports that the Screen Actors Guild Awards nominees were announced today. And in the television categories, Mad Men and 30 Rock led the pack. 30 Rock is nominated for cast award as well as best actor and actress for Alex Baldwin and Tina Fey. They will face off against the casts of The Office, Desperate Housewives, Entourage and Weeds. Baldwin faces off with Steve Carell (The Office), David Duchovny (Californication), Jeremy Piven (Entourage) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) in the best actor category. America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?), Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) and Tracy Ullman (Tracy Ullman's State of the Union) will go up against Fey. As for the Mad Men, they earned a nomination for drama ensemble, Jon Hamm for best actor, and Elisabeth Moss for best actress

The last episode of Pushing Daisies aired on ABC on Wednesday night to a Nielsen rating of 4.8 million viewers. The remaining episodes will still supposedly be show by ABC, but there is no set dates as of yet, according to E!

TV Guide reports that American Idol producers and judges were devastated by the suicide of Paula Abdul stalker Paula Goodspeed in November. "I have to separate this controversy from others, because you are talking about a human tragedy," Simon Cowell said during a Tuesday conference call. "It hit us like an express train.
