TV News Update: Gale Harold Returns To 'Desperate Housewives' (Vocally)

Gale Harold and Teri HatcherDesperate Housewives 's Gale Harold returned to the set for the first time since his Oct. motorcycle accident which left him in critical condition, reports TV Guide . Harold, who plays Teri Hatcher's husband Jackson post five year jump, fractured a collar bone, and reportedly had swelling to the brain. He returned to tape a phone call to Teri's Susan character explaining his character's absence. "We are working on bringing him back to the show. We just don't know when," Housewives producers say. "Because we had to work around his absence, the story doesn't require him immediately. But we would like to have him back on the show very soon."

Hugh Laurie and Christina Applegate won Best Male and Female TV Star at the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards last Wednesday night for their roles on House and Samantha Who?. Other television winners included Dancing with the Stars for Best Reality Show, Ellen DeGeneres for Best Talk Show Host, and The Mentalist for Favorite New TV Drama.

Actress Stephanie March will reprise her role as DA Alexandra Cabot on Law and Order SVU for six episodes this season starting next month. March left the show in 2003 when her character went into the witness protection program but has returned once and also starred as the character on the short-lived NBC series Conviction. TV Guide reports that current DA Kim Grayleck (Michaela McManus) will be on assignment in Washington during the stint.

Sheree Whitfield, one of the stars of Bravo's breakout hit The Real Housewives of Atlanta, talked to People about her upcoming divorce. "We are in the final stages of the divorce and the settlement and I cannot wait to be single and hot again! I feel like I am single already because we have been separated for at least three or four years. I am just ready to do my thing and focus on me, my kids, my family and friends." Whitfield says that they have not begun filming the second season yet, and isn't sure whether rumors that Dorys Irving, wife of basketball legend Julius Irving, will be joining the cast are true or not.
