
After fighting with Edie, she tells Dave to leave. They show him walking down the street with his suitcases as he remembers what happened to his previous family. It shows that police officers came to his door and told him his wife and daughter were in an accident. Then at the hospital the Dr. tells him they had died. He is then being drug in to a psychiatric hospital room. The next clip shows how he meets Edie and moves in with her, who happens to live on the same street as the man that killed his wife and daughter, Mike Delfino. As Dave is walking, Mike is putting out his garbage and he tells Mike what happened with Edie. Mike offers for him to stay with him. He accepts because Mike says he owes him for saving his life. Dave's dream of revenge is salvaged.
The next morning, Edie is on the phone telling her friends what happened. They all come over and discuss it. Susan says she shouldn't have kicked him out over an old wife. Gaby says they should do a spa weekend. Susan asks if Edie can rent out her house because she's moving in with Jackson. Everyone except Edie is really happy for her.
Katherine stops over and talks to Mike. She tells him she talked to her daughter, Dylan, who asked to her move to Baltimore with her to help with the baby. Mike asks her if she wants to. She says she's not sure and is weighing the pros and cons.She asks what he thinks. He is vague and basically says it's up to her to make the decision. I think she was looking for him to say she shouldn't leave him. He gets a phone call and she walks away.
At Bree's, she Alex and Andrew discuss the landscaping at their new house. Orson comes downstairs excited about a new grill he got. Bree says he got a bad deal on it. He tells them he negotiated and got a good deal. She makes fun of him and covers his mouth telling him to hush. Alex asks her if she could please not do that. He says it pushes a button when she talks like that to Orson and says it's emasculating. He asks her to not be rude to her husband in front of him. Orson goes on about the grill and Andrew and Alex continue listening while Bree fumes.
Carlos is leaving overnight for work. The girls are sad that he's leaving and have to spend the next 2 days with Gaby. Gaby is a little upset about it and tells them he'll be back soon. The girls continue to cling on to Carlos.
Lynette recieves a visit from her mother's neighbor's brother. He tells her that his sister is tired of her son. He tells her that her kid has been there for a week driving his sister crazy and stealing his sister's orange juice. Lynette calls Tom and tells him she's going to get Porter. Parker comes downstairs and tells him she's going to get Porter. She rushes out telling Mr. Fishman thank you.
Edie shows Andrew and Alex their new house one more time. They ask her if she can make sure the basement is cleared out. She tells them no problem and heads downstairs as Susan comes down the sidewalk yelling Edie. Edie ignores her and goes to the basement. Susan comes in and asks her what her problem is. Edie tells her she's upset with her because she had called them all over for support this morning and Susan told everyone how wonderful her life is. Susan says she didn't think it was a big deal because it's just another man she's tossed out. She tells her she was just bringing her mail and tosses it on the floor. Edie tells her that she threw Susan's in the garbage and she can get it at her convenience. Susan tries to open the door but it's locked. Edie yells at her and they both realize that no one knows either is there. They start banging on the door yelling for help.
Gaby tells Juanita it's bath time. Juanita tells her no because she's not ready to until her movie is over. Gaby turns it off and tells her to move it. She says no and Gaby starts dragging her to the stairs. Gaby is completely out of breath by this time and can't go any further. She tells Juanita she's got to get up there and take a bath. Juanita sticks her tongue out and shakes her head. Gaby tries again and hurts her back. Juanita doesn't care and goes back to the couch and turns on her movie.
Lynette goes to her mom's retirement home. Her mom acts like she doesn't know who she is and says oh yeah you're the one who comes at Christmas and brings socks. Lynette asks her if she knows about Porter and the fire and court. She tells her she does but knows how well Lynette took care of her and doesn't want the same with Porter. Lynette tells her to tell her where she is. She tells her he's safe and that she heard her neighbor tell her brother about Porter being there and figured she'd be on her way to find him so she made sure Porter left. Lynette begs her to tell her where Porter is. She refuses to though.
Back in the basement with Edie and Susan, Edie asks Susan why she's moving in with Jackson. Edie asks her why she always has to have a man in her life. Susan denies it and says she's had plenty of time to herself. Edie breaks out a marker and a roll of paper. She tells her she's going to make a time chart of Susan's love life and asks her for her first boyfriend's name and her age. Susan doesn't want to do it but Edie insists so she finally gives in. They go through every boyfriend she's ever had and figure out that she has never gone more than a month or two and mostly because they dumped her. Susan tells Edie at least she doesn't just hook up with men. Edie says she wants men but Susan needs men and that she's weak. Edie goes back to the door and pounds on it.
Bree and Orson are getting ready for bed. He asks her if she wants to make love. She says they've got 15 minutes before the news starts so why not. How ridiculous is that? Anyway, Bree brings up the argument with Alex and his use of emasculating. Orson says she can be a little tough at times. She is upset and says that's a little harsh. He tells her that he and Andrew have gotten used to it and that he's sure Alex will too.
Lynette is in the car crying talking to Tom. She tells him that her mother won't tell her where Porter is and that she doesn't know what they're going to do. Tom tells her to calm down and just get home safe so they can figure it out. She wipes her eyes and when she opens them she grabs the wheel, hits the brakes and gasps like she was hitting the car in front of her. Tom yells Lynette and there's no answer.
Porter and her mom rush in to the hospital and ask the receptionist for Lynette. Lynette and Tom run up behind them. Lynette hugs Porter and he asks what happened because he thought she was in an accident. She tells them that there was an accident 2 cars in front of her and she thought that it could of been her and that Porter would come to the hospital. Her mom tells her it was awful of her to do that because she thought she was dead. Porter tells her he doesn't want to go to jail. She tells him that Bob thinks he's going to be cleared of the charge, but he has to go to court. He finally agrees and they start to leave. Lynette's mom says it was rotten of her to do that. Lynette tells her she learned from the best and leaves.
Gaby yells upstairs to tell the girls they have to come pick up their toys. She counts to three and no one comes down. She asks if they can hear her and they yell yes. She tells them she's had enough and she's going to call their dad. She calls Carlos who's in a meeting and tells him the kids aren't listening to her. He tells her he can't do anything about it because he's in a meeting. She says she doesn't care she wants him to yell at them. He says he can't and that she'll have to deal with them and hangs up.
Orson and Bree are having a cookout with Orson's new grill. Dave and Mike arrive and go to the test kitchen to get a beer. Mike tells Dave that Katherine's upset with him about Baltimore. He says he doesn't want her to go but also doesn't want to come between her and her daughter. Dave says he thought Mike might still be in love with Susan. Mike says no he actually thinks he might be falling in love with Katherine. Dave tells him he didn't think it was that serious. Back outside, the food is ready so Andrew goes to get Mike and Dave. They start eating and Orson says the meat is overcooked. He asks what Bree thinks. She says she wouldn't want to say because if she says it's overcooked it might be emasculating him again by saying that he didn't do a good job cooking on the grill which is a manly pasttime. He says she's not going to let it go. She says no it might mean she was deballing him. He says no there's just a way to say things nicely. She says it would also be nice if he showed a little gratitude for her buying the house. He says the house obviously comes with strings and he's going to have to decline her gesture of buying it. He gets up and leaves as Andrew, Mike, and Dave come back outside. Andrew asks what's going on and Bree says Orson burnt the steaks.
Susan and Edie are still in the basement. Susan is lying on the floor and says maybe she does feel incomplete without a man but wouldn't trade places with Edie for anything. She tells her that Edie uses men like tissues and that she wants the happy ending. Edie tells her that when she was young, her dad left her and her mom for another woman with a little girl. He came back to get his stuff while they were gone. He took all of his stuff and Edie's special horse figurines. Her mom called and asked him why. He told her that his girlfriends daughter would appreciate them more. Susan goes to hug her and tells her it's awful and she gets why she is the ways she is. Edie slaps her and says she doesn't need to psycho analyze her. Susan pushes her back and says she was just trying to be nice. Edie falls over in to a pile of boxes.
Gaby asks the girls to pick up their toys before dinner. Juanita says dinner's not for 2 hours and refuses. Gaby takes her doll away and asks her what's going on. She says she loves her daddy more. Gaby gives her the doll back and says fine. She goes outside and cries. The landscaper? sees her and asks what's wrong. She tells him and he tells her that she's got to take charge. She tells him that they're not scared of her. He imitates how he scares his own kids. Gaby asks if he's got a minute. They go in and he demands that the kids pick up their toys. He keeps yelling at them to pick them up and do it faster. The girls are scared and hurry up to clean up their toys. Gaby tells them that she knows they love their daddy so much, but he actually sent Reggie over to make sure they listened to her. They continue cleaning as Gaby smiles.
Edie is making Susan guess the month of the magazines they found. Every time she's wrong Edie throws the magazine at her. Suddenly, a guy walks in and they jump up. He says he's there to clean out the rat traps. They both look at each other. Susan goes to leave and Edie asks her not to tell anyone about her dad. Susan says she won't. As Susan's walking out Edie tells her she'll bring her mail over later.
Lynette goes to visit her mom. She tells her that Porter's case was dimissed. Her mom ignores her. Lynette says she didn't put her mom in there to punish her, she did it to help her because she was gambling and drinking and passing out with cigarettes in her mouth. She says she loves her. Her mom asks why she doesn't come visit. Lynette tells her because she's angry and mean to her. She says that her anger is the only thing she's got left. Lynette says she would like to spend time with her for whatever time she's got left but she needs her to change. She tells her mom she'd come visit at least twice a week and even bring her kids sometimes. She agrees to treat her better and seems really happy. She asks Lynette to stay awhile so they can visit.
Carlos gets home and sees that the girls are helping their mom. They tell him they have to because mommy made the mean man yell at them. Carlos discusses it with Gaby. He says she can't have complete strangers yelling at thier kids. He tells her that when he was the one always home they said they loved her more. He tells her she's got to learn not to take it personally and discipline them. He says she can't expect him to work all day and then with the time he does have with the kids to yell at them.
Bree tries to talk to Andrew, but he refuses to talk about anything except the business. She says he needs to tell Alex to stop criticizing her. He says if she has a problem with him she needs to talk to him about it. She says he won't listen. Andrew says no it's that he won't obey her. He tells her that he doesn't have to be pushed around by her like they do.
Katherine arrives home and finds flowers with a note that says Don't Go on it. She goes to Mike's and says thank you for them. He kind of looks surprised. She asks if they were from him. He says yes and they kiss. They show Dave peeking behind the curtains.
Alex goes to Bree's. She says she doesn't want to fight with him and tries to hand him the keys to the house. He says they're always going to have disagreements because it's just who they are and that they shouldn't make it worse by living on top of each other. She tells him she wants to tell him something that she hasn't told anybody. She says she knows she's changed since she started the cooking business. She says she's become selfish, impatient, and rude. She says she needs someone who isn't afraid to call her out and she'd love him to be that person. He asks if she just gave him permission to criticize her. She says yes she did and hands him the keys. He takes them and hugs her.
Edie goes to Mike's to talk to Dave. She tells him she thinks what they have is real and that she's not ready to give up yet. She says she at a point where she could use a happy ending.
Susan calls Jackson and says she needs to talk to him about the move.
Edie calls her friends to tell them her husband moved back in. Gaby doesn't pick up though because Carlos is telling the girls that they have to listen to their mother. Lynette was with her mom laughing and talking about the past. Bree was outside with Alex trying out different paint colors on the boys' new house. Susan was outside on her porch enjoying a cup of tea finding out what it was like to be without a man.
