Gossip Girl: Gone With The Will (Episode 133)

Good 'ole Uncle Jack is back this episode causing trouble. He and Blair, and even Nate (it's about time Chace decided to return to the show!!) meet up to give Chuck support before his dad's will is read. Chuck and Jack go in and hear the will be read. First thing is that Uncle Jack is Chuck's guardian now which we pretty much already knew. Second thing is that Bart left Chuck a note that tells him how much he's proud of him and how his passing is Chuck's final transformation from boy to man. He's giving Chuck 51% of shares/the controlling stake in Bass Industries. Chuck is too stubborn though and says he wants nothing to do with it and runs off to sulk. Poor Chuck. NOT.

Serena calls Dan but he ignores her call clearly hoping to try to avoid her until Rufus and Lily get back and he doesn't have to keep their shared sibling a secret. Serena starts to catch on that something is up with Dan but can't quite put her finger on it. Her hunch is that he fears there is still something between Rufus and Lily and that's why he's ignoring her. She confronts him at school about it and tells him that Lily told her that there is nothing between Rufus and her now, so there's nothing to worry about. Dan goes along with it but has that tortured look on his face. After Serena walks away he calls Rufus and asks when they're coming back he can't keep lying to Serena. Just then the 'it' posse walk up behind him and hear him say something about lying to Serena. They immediately send the scoop to Gossip Girl and within minutes the news has spread. Gossip Girl wonders if Dan is cheating on Serena and tells her readers to get to the bottom of it.

Chuck finally comes around to his senses after his walk and a talking to from Blair and tells Uncle Jack that he will accept his dad's gift. Jack is not happy about this at all because he wanted to be the one running the show, not Chuck. He tells Chuck he's not ready yet, he has no experience. Chuck tells him that if he wants to stay in NYC he'll find a job for him within the company. Jack walks out. In the car Jack calls Blair and tells her that he wants her to put on a surprise party for Chuck to 'celebrate' him taking over the company. It's pretty obvious Jack has something up his sleeve but Blair is totally oblivious.

Up in Boston, Lily and Rufus meet with a lawyer to try to get to the bottom of where their son who was adopted is at now and whether they can talk to him or his parents. The lawyer says he'll look into it.

Blair sees the Gossip Girl post about Dan maybe or maybe not cheating and tells Serena who blows it off. Dan and Vanessa head to a candy store together after school which turns a few heads. While the mini "it" girls of past episodes are chewing Dan out for cheating on Serena one of the real "it" girls steals Dan's cell phone out of his pocket. Dan doesn't notice till way later when it's too late and doesn't think anything about it being stolen by the "it" girls and the problems this could and will cause.

That night, Chuck and Blair are supposed to have a romantic dinner but instead Jack lures Chuck into having a wild night out with call girls and cocaine. Chuck is stupid enough to fall for the scheme. I think we all know where this is heading.

Serena goes to Vanessa and asks if she has any idea what's going on with Dan. Vanessa tells her that she has no idea, Dan hasn't said anything. After Serena leaves Vanessa texts Dan and asks when Lily and Rufus are getting back so that Serena will be in on the secret of the child. Of course since Dan's phone was stolen the text is intercepted by the "it" girls. Gasp!

Rufus and Lily get a bit of bad news. The people who adopted their love child have no interest in meeting with them now or ever.

The next day is the surprise party and believe it or not Chuck is still hung over, doing coke and screwing with the call girls. Blair has steam blowing out her ears when Jack tells her that he's hung over from their wild night. Matters get worse a short time later though when the Bass Industries board members find Chuck in his office doing the coke and call girls at his side. They are furious and tell him that his dad made a big mistake appointing him to take over. Chuck is confused because he has no idea what is going on especially later when he realizes there is an entire party going on for him. He and Blair have it out because she's pissed that he's such a dirt bag that would throw everything away and he's pissed that she did this without telling him.

The "it" girls go to Blair to show her the scoop they have on Dan and Serena and to see if they have her approval to send it to Gossip Girl but she's wrapped up in the Chuck drama and tells them to post whatever. So, they do. And, in Gossip Girl fashion the news hits the net within minutes. Everyone's phones at the party start buzzing and then everyone is staring at Dan and Serena. Serena checks her phone to see what the fuss is about and is stunned to find out about her secret brother. Jenny and Eric are also very surprised but they're not speaking at the moment because they're having a petty fight over Eric spending too much time with his new boyfriend. Little J is jealous. Serena walks out of the room and Dan goes chasing after. Outside he fills her, Jenny and Eric on on the details and tries apologizing for not being able to tell her before. She doesn't seem as mad about it as I thought she'd be.

Meanwhile up in Boston Lily and Rufus have a fight of their own whether to stick out for another night and try to make contact with the other parents or head back to the big apple. Lily is all for going, Rufus all for staying. Lily says she just can't stop worrying about Rufus hating her for forever and she still loves him. They end up kissing and then having sex. After the fireworks there they get some more fireworks. The dad of their son calls and wants to meet them but secretly because his wife doesn't want him to. So they agree to meet.

Chuck goes to Chuck after being humilated in front of everyone at the party. Chuck still wants to head Bass Industries but it seems Jack may have screwed him out of it now. Jack says that there was a 'morality clause' in the will that if Chuck did anything to damage his reputation and/or the company that he be removed and his guardian take over. So Jack already went to the company board and got it approved that he'll be taking over.

Rufus and Lily meet with the dad of their son and he has bad news. He tells them "Andrew" was killed last year in a drowning incident. He got caught up in a rip tide and drowned. He tells them Andrew was always happy, always had a smile on his face. This is tough for Rufus and Lily to hear but they take it well.

Back in NYC, Serena is trying to figure out what this shared sibling means to her and Dan. She says it's way 'too hillbilly' for her and Dan to date and have a shared sibling. ha!

Dan goes to see Vanessa but instead finds Nate. Nate tells him that he saw the post and says sorry. He knows what it's like to having your personal life on display for everyone to see and comment on. He says the upside to it all is that you find out who your true friends are, such as him and Dan becoming friends when his dad got in trouble.

Chuck goes to Blair with flowers to apologize for cheating and being such an idiot but she's done with him. She says that she can't do it anymore. Finally, his dad believed in him, she believed in him... everyone was believing in him except himself. She says she can't be there anymore to watch him continue to tear himself apart. Plus, Chuck had made some really rude comment during his drunken stupor about her being his 'wife' and made it seem like that would be horrible. She tells him she doesn't want that and throws the flowers back at him.

Serena and Eric show up at Dan and Jenny's door just when Dan is telling Jenny who knows when he'll talk to Serena again. It looks like they're turning into one big happy family... who happen to sleep with each other. Maybe Serena was onto a little something when she said it was hillbilly. Anyway, Serena and Dan have a good heart-to-heart conversation and laugh a lot about what the shared sibling means and the many movies that have had similar storylines... such as Clueless. Eric and Jenny even make up for their stupid little fight. And, just when things are looking like they can't get much better, in walks Lily and Rufus. Just before they walked in Lily told Rufus that maybe with Andrew dying they were just never meant to be a family. Well, maybe they are meant to be a big happy family afterall.

The last shocker of the episode is when the parents who adopted Lily and Rufus's love child meet up and we find out that they LIED. They did have one son die in a drowning incident, but it wasn't Lily and Rufus's kid. They just didn't want to lose two sons so they lied to get Lily and Rufus to go away. I wonder how long it'll take before Lily and Rufus finally figure this mystery out. I hope they do.. it'll be a juicy twist!
