It's sad that the day "The Office" finally comes back after the holiday break, I was told that I would be doing my last recap. Sigh. So anyway, Pam tells us that after complaints about cars speeding down the road in front of the office building, the police set up a radar gun, which has caused a bit of a traffic hazard of its own. Michael has been using the radar to time sprints and challenging his co-workers to races ("12 mph! Eat that, Carl Lewis!") He beat Oscar with a 31 mph run (well, not really...a car drove by right as he was sprinting down the street).

Privileged: All About Tough Love: Episode 114
January 15, 2009So first off I have to comment on no longer being a writer on THE RECAPIST after this blog posting. It's been a fun year and a half but the owners of the site have decided to stop paying us for our witty banter and knowledge of all things television.
Megan as always is dealing with more family drama. This time it's because her sister Lily is in jail. On the other hand, Sage and Rose are dealing with their own crisis, aka their new boyfriends. Sage feels she needs to buy a gift to show Luis how she truly feels about their relationship. Didn't anyone ever tell this girl money never buys happiness? Well, wait I think I COULD be a little more happy with my own condo :)

Scrubs - "My Happy Place" (Episode 804)
January 15, 2009Well, it's about time - three episodes without the Todd! JD and Elliot were becoming better friends, going to movies (produced by Oprah Winfrey) and dinner (at a restaurant Oprah owns) and enjoying breakfast together when JD had Sam (they ate "Oprah-Os". When JD opened the box, Oprah - actually Whitney from payroll doing her "Oprah voice" - said "Who wants to eat some cereal?") Turk (where was he during the last episode anyway?) is applying pressure to a patient's abdomen and a fart is emitted. Turk told the patient "it's perfectly natural" and the patient responded "that was you." Cox was supervising Turk's consult and he wanted to know why. Cox said that the patients would agree to anything that a "blodletting corpse carpenter" (like Turk) would suggest and he wants to make sure the patients make the right choice (and he just doesn't trust Turk). JD noted that Kelso was still hanging out at Coffee Bucks every day. Ted finally asked him why he was spending all of his time at the place where he used to work. He said it was sad, which, by comparison, made his life "seem....sigh..still sad." Ted asked Kelso if he had anything better to do and he said he's got tons of stuff going on - he was just there to stock up on muffins before leaving on a vacation with Enid. Since Maddox was gone, Janitor was back and JD was less-than-thrilled. What was worse was that Jimmy, the overly touchy orderly was back too - and Janitor took the liberty of telling him how much JD "missed him." Uh-oh.

Scrubs - "My Saving Grace" (Episode 803)
January 15, 2009Since I've been with this site since 2006, I can't quit you, Recapist - so I'll be sticking around for a while! JD says that with all of the bureaucracy at the hospital, sometimes the doctors had to bend the rules for their patients a bit. Unfortunately, Dr. Maddox wasn't having that and was seemingly omnipresent in the halls of Sacred Heart. Jd told Elliot that all of a sudden the hospital was a police state. Elliot agreed and said that the next thing you know, they'll be charging doctors for candy at the gift shop (well, Elliot was getting her candy for free because the cashier, Johann, wanted to marry her and take her back to Estonia (which explains why he asked her if she were comfortable around oxen.) JD says he's disturbed that they can't "work the system anymore" but Cox asserts that he's been able to work around Maddox. In fact, he got a 35-year-old patient into a clinical trial with a cut-off age of 30. He asked the patient what he'd say his age was "if anyone asked" and the patient happily yelled "35!" Unfortunately, the trial was for victims of head trauma. Cox told JD he was able to give his patients top-notch care because he was simply a better doctor.

TV News Update: Michael Cera Holding Up 'Arrested Development' Movie
January 14, 2009
Michael CeraMichael Cera is the only cast member from the dearly departed cult hit Arrested Development that has not signed on for the big screen feature. TV Guide spoke with Jason Bateman, who played Cera's father on the show. "I think Michael is clearly the guy that has come out of Arrested Development with a very big plate, so I think he's trying to really give some responsible thought to what makes sense for him to do with his career," he said. "The guy is 20 years old and I'm sure he doesn't want to screw up this opportunity."

January 14, 2009
White House. Lurch informs the President that Tony is being transported to the FBI field office for interrogation. She doesn't understand why Tony doesn't have the CIP device, since he was orchestrating the attacks. Steven speaks up and informs everyone that Tony is working for General Candyman's regime, as they just got a phone call from Dubaku. He plays a tape of the message Dubaku left, but due to a mix of audio quality and Dubaku's accent, it's hard to make out exactly what he's saying. Long story short, he wants them to pull the US troops out of Sangala in 24 hours and they need to see them starting to move out in three hours. They discuss several options and Taylor has them issue alerts to first responders to be ready for another attack. She also has them tell the FBI to get their asses in gear and get whatever they can out of Tony.
