TV News Update: Details On Amy Poehler's New Sitcom

Amy PoehlerAmy PoehlerTV.com reports that Amy Poehler's Office-like (but not a spin-off) NBC sitcom will feature her as a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks & Recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana, and be shot in the same style as The Office . Rashia Jones, Aziz Asnari and Aubrey Plaza will co-star.

Michael CeraMichael CeraMichael Cera is the only cast member from the dearly departed cult hit Arrested Development that has not signed on for the big screen feature. TV Guide spoke with Jason Bateman, who played Cera's father on the show. "I think Michael is clearly the guy that has come out of Arrested Development with a very big plate, so I think he's trying to really give some responsible thought to what makes sense for him to do with his career," he said. "The guy is 20 years old and I'm sure he doesn't want to screw up this opportunity."

She will play a renowned doctor at Seattle Grace who butts heads with "the Chief, Cristina and Owen." This will be Faye's first TV appearance since an episode of CSI in 2006.

Harold, who plays Teri Hatcher's husband Jackson post five year jump, fractured a collar bone, and reportedly had swelling to the brain. He returned to tape a phone call to Teri's Susan character explaining his character's absence. "We are working on bringing him back to the show. We just don't know when," Housewives producers say. "Because we had to work around his absence, the story doesn't require him immediately. But we would like to have him back on the show very soon."








TV News Update: Future of 'Scrubs' Uncertain

ScrubsScrubsBill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs , says he's not sure if the show will return next season or not, reports TV.com .  The show is airing its eighth season on ABC as opposed to NBC and premieres tonight. Lawrence says if the show does return next season, it will be a business decision. "ABC is promoting the s--t out of Scrubs," Lawrence said. "It's very weird. It's the first time I've seen commercials for the show in seven years…The reality is, Scrubs is incredibly reasonably priced. And without Zach's salary and my salary, it's probably cheaper to make then some new shows. And it's sold into syndication, so every episode that gets produced, ABC makes $1 million or so on the back end. I don't think it'll be a creative decision."

Mesnick, who was turned down by Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas on the last season, was asked by TV Guide if his four-year-old son Ty met any of the ladies vying for his love. "There's no way that I thought it was an appropriate place for Ty to be getting to know a lot of different girls in a group or something like that. And I'll be the first person to say TV's not the exact right place for a kid to be all the time," said Mesnick.

Among them was whether the best villain on TV right now, Ben Linus (Michael Emerson), may be getting "some loving" this season. The answer was no, but they did mention his obsession with Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) might have some consequences. Other revelations? The four-toed statue will be revisited this season, and explored more in season six. And Ben's (and Rousseau's) daughter Alex (Tania Raymonde) was brutally killed last season because the writers were "looking for a way to create a moment of sympathy for Ben." They add that Ben "is, make no mistake, out for revenge." The Lost season premiere on ABC is on Wed., Jan. 21.
