Brothers and Sisters

Brothers & Sisters: Sibling Rivalry (Episode 51)

We begin this week with an appearance by Regis & Kelly. Kitty is on the show hawking her book. Most of the family is watching, as is Kitty, though Robert is busy yapping away on his cell phone.

While Regis & Kelly is airing Sarah and her website partners have a business meeting and it comes up that in order for the site to be ready to launch in time to present it at an upcoming tech conference they will need a cash infusion of, oh say, $120,000! Nora calls in the middle of this discussion so Sarah, in the moment, rants to Nora how the site has one foot in the grave already. We all know how fast gossip spreads around the Walker family. Within the hour practically everyone is aware of the situation but ultimately it's Kitty who gets stuck having to fork over the dough to Sarah, or at least that's what Nora wants.

Brothers & Sisters: A Father Dreams (Episode 50)

After a refreshing break for the holidays we're back with a new episode of the always dramatic Brothers & Sisters. This week the episode title tells it all. Kevin is having some seriously delusional dreams. He is still recovering from having a piece of his liver taken out and hopped up on who knows what drugs, so I guess I'll try not to judge too harshly.

Brothers & Sisters: Just A Sliver (Episode 49)

Unlike other shows that celebrate the holidays the week before or even the week after, Brothers and Sisters does things a little different... they celebrate Thanksgiving 2 weeks later. I guess we should expect the Christmas episode in mid-January.

As I'm sure we can all relate, Thanksgiving with the entire family can sometimes get a little out of control. The Walker's are certainly no different, I mean, they can barely hold things together on a normal day.

Brothers & Sisters: Unfinished Business (Episode 48)

Last week we got cheated out of Brothers & Sisters due to the American Music Awards but we're back with a new episode and it's a good one!

Nora is diving right into the restoration of her new home mansion. She drags Kevin, Scotty, Justin and Saul over to check out the place and figure out what all needs to be done. She surprises all of them with a long list of extensive repairs and says they can save a fortune, not to mention "burn some calories" (because they are all raging fat asses, clearly), by doing it all themselves. The guys are not excited to say the least and try to talk her out of it explaining how difficult it will be, but she has an answer for everything. Ultimately, I think we all know who is going to win this argument. Nora, of course.

Brothers & Sisters: Going Once... Going Twice (Episode 47)

This week we're in for another dramatic, argument-filled episode starring the Walker family. Of course, like every other week by the end of the episode, or at the start of the next, the whole family comes together and all is well again. If only every family was able to just let things go so easily.

Scotty gets home late from work and tries sneaking into the room so not to wake up Kevin, but he ends up knocking stuff over and Kevin wakes up anyway. Since Kevin is awake Scotty fills him in on some amazing news. But first, Kevin has a gift for him, a framed magazine cover of five upcoming chefs which includes Scotty. And, Scotty's good news fits perfectly with the gift, he's been promoted to the head chef.

Kitty is still depressed about the adoption falling through. She has insomnia so she spends all night watching even more depressing stories on television and donating to every cause.

The next morning, Nora is off to a peppy start. She's excited because she has picked out a few houses that she's considering buying at an auction. She shares the picks with Saul and Justin and says this will be her first time buying a house because William surprised her with the current house. Saul has to get going though, he has a busy day waiting for the A/C repairman. After he leaves Justin tells Nora he feels bad for Saul because all he does is mope around and has nothing to do. Nora reminds Justin he doesn't have much going on in his life either.

Brothers & Sisters: Do You Believe in Magic? (Episode 46)

Justin catches Rebecca off guard as she gets out of the shower prompting her to let out a scream, then she yells at him. He just smiles and tells her that he loves her. This is the first time he's said it and he obviously is expecting an "I love you too" but instead Rebecca just says thank you and then walks away. That has to sting a little.

Brothers & Sisters 2.09 | Something New

On the boilerplate in this episode of Brothers & Sisters: Kitty’s wedding to Rob Lowe. There are a number of smaller, finer details, such as the office slut dating the rehabbed pill-popper, the hunky gays and matriarchal l’amour among other things.

Let me confess one thing. I have never seen an episode of this show before – but barring Kitty, Brenda From Six Feet Under and Everyone’s Mom, everyone has no personality and looks like they all picked out their wardrobe from the same J.Crew catalogue that I’m hard-pressed to figure out how anyone can keep all of these wacky brothers and sisters’ names straight. So I apologize for my own compartmentalization of the characters on the show.

Brothers and Sisters: "36 Hours" (Episode 30)

Justin’s been abusing pain meds for the last three weeks, so what do the Walkers do? Throw him an intervention, of course! It had all the spectacle of a Walker gathering… well, minus the booze anyway.

It all starts when an angry and bitter Rebecca informs her mother of Justin’s drug use. Holly urges her to tell Nora because "it’s the least she could do for the Walker family." Uh, okay. Nobody seems shocked at the revelation and the Walkers gather at the homestead and wait to ambush—I mean, support—Justin. Everyone shows up except for Tommy who is too busy having sex with his secretary to answer the phone. Isn’t that her job, BTW?

Justin returns home from a meeting with his dealer and finds his entire immediate family silently staring at him as he walks into the living room. And believe me, nothing screams “intervention” like a room full of family members awkwardly staring at you. Well, there was that time I preformed Cats with actual cats at a family reunion when I was twelve, but I digress. People who live in glass houses, Grandpa!

Justin doesn’t take it very well. Actually, he flips his shit. He systematically berates every single member of his family (this is why I love an intervention… I can’t wait for mine!) starting with Nora who he blames for his addiction. After all, she did urge him to go on the pain killers in the first place. I’ll give him this one. What were you thinking, Nora?

Brothers and Sisters: "Two Places" (Episode 29)

“Operation Puppy” or, as Kitty and I like to call it, “Operation Shot Gun Wedding Because the Condom Broke” is fully underway. After bringing a well known Republican strategist into the campaign (played by well know actor, Danny Glover), Kitty reluctantly agrees to follow his advise and get married in two days. Nora doesn’t fancy the idea of a wedding with the Justice of the Peace and “florescent lights” and decides to plan a real wedding at the Walker home. Everything is falling into place when some bad news hits the family. It’s very depressing… I’ll spare you the details. Just kidding! I’ll tell you in a sec.
