Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy: Brave New World (Episode 81)

So, maybe Derek wasn't so wrong in his idea of Izzie and Alex moving out now that he's living with Meredith. The reason I say this is because we begin with Izzie knocking on Meredith's bedroom door and Derek answering wearing nothing holding only a pink pillow to cover his stuff. Meredith isn't even there, which makes the situation even that much more awkward. Izzie just wants to borrow some cash from Meredith because she ordered a pizza but has no cash. Alex owes her a $20 but he refuses to answer his bedroom door. Derek tells Izzie to step in the bathroom, then he shouts to Alex that he needs to borrow a $20, Alex brings it to him without a word. After Alex goes back to his room Derek gives Izzie the $20.

Grey's Anatomy: Here Comes the Flood (Episode 80)

After last week's disappointing two-hour season premiere, this week gets slightly better. Slightly being the keyword.

Meredith is at the therapist again, and she definitely needs therapy. She thinks her life is all peachy now that she and Derek are going to be living together, but the therapist tries to tell her differently. Meredith doesn't want to hear about this so she leaves.

Grey's Anatomy: Dream A Little Dream of Me (Episode 79)

The season premiere begins with a shocker that I called at the end of last season. Meredith is left standing in the middle of the candlelight house that she built to win back Derek, she's waiting for Derek to return. But, he never does return. Instead, Meredith finds Derek at the hospital after he's involved in a car accident. Just as she arrives at the hospital she sees the docs call the time of death for Derek, and she is devastated. Unfortunately, this is all just a bad dream and Meredith awakes to reality with Derek still alive and well. The reason I say it's unfortunate is because maybe if Derek had actually died the two-hour premiere might have actually been interesting, instead it's more of the same old Meredith and Derek back and forth "you love me, you love me not" drama. I love Grey's Anatomy, but seriously how long can they keep this thing going. Just get married and shut up about it or break up and one of you go away.

Grey's Anatomy: Freedom Part 2 (Episode 78)

Let's continue now with part two of the finale.

Alex rushes Ava to the hospital after she slashed herself with the butcher knife. It appears that she slashed both wrists and has lost a considerable amount of blood. Izzie is waiting at the emergency doors when Alex brings her in, but yet again he insists on taking care of Ava by himself. The thing is that he's not working today, so therefore Izzie is the doctor in control. Izzie insists that Ava be admitted for a pysch consult, but Alex refuses. He goes off on Izzie telling her "just leave us alone you stupid bitch!" Now, that was an OMFG! moment (take that Gossip Girl!). And, that right there my friends is the beginning of this year's catch phrase: "stupid bitch!" Izzie is stunned and furious. She goes to Miranda to try to get her to help, but Miranda refuses telling her that she knows how to deal with this situation. In this case Ava is the patient, Alex is the loved one, and Izzie is the doctor, she knows what to do. She brings a psych doctor to come speak with Ava. Alex starts to moan and groan, so Izzie asks to speak with him while the doctor speaks with Ava. Izzie tells Alex that Ava is her patient and she will decide what needs to be done. Alex tells her that she's being unreasonable. Izzie says that if he tries to take her out of the hospital without her release she will call the police. Alex says he's got this, Izzie says she's got it. Alex goes to take Ava so Izzie grabs him by the arm forcefully. Alex asks if she's going to physically restrain him, she says she will if she has to and asks if he's going to hit a woman, he says he will if he has to. She tells Alex that he doesn't know what he's doing and he could do more damage. He tells Izzie that she's just going through a bad patch and he can do everything for her until the bad patch is over. He then tells Izzie that he took care of his mom before, and he can do this now. He was a kid then, he is a man now and he can do it.

Grey's Anatomy: Freedom Part 1 (Episode 77)

Before we jump into part one of the finale I'd like to thank Jane for covering last week's episode for me! Was that a great episode or what?! To be honest though I'm sort of tired of them killing everyone off. I thought these were the best doctors in the world? Come on Seattle Grace, you can do better. Anyway, onto the finale where, who knows, maybe they can actually save someone this week.

Grey's Anatomy: Losing My Mind (Episode 415)

Meredith tells us that the problem with being a resident is that you feel crazy all the time. You haven't slept in years. You spend all your time around crisis. You lose your ability to judge what's normal, in yourself or other people, yet people are constantly asking you to tell them how they're doing, like you're supposed to know. You don't even know how you're doing.  While she's telling us everything we've witnessed firsthand in the last four years of the show, we see Cristina, actually cleaning her apartment to Callie's total shock and fear; Alex handing Rebecca breakfast at Joe's; Rebecca vomiting breakfast on Alex's shoes; and Meredith pacing in Dr. Wyatt's office. All to the strains of a strange, Williams-sisters-esque version of "Walk Like an Egyptian." Wyatt reminds Mere that they had their first real discussion of her feelings and now she wants to quit. Mere says she doesn't quit things. Wyatt's like, yeah, you do. "Your mother quit your father, your father quit you, you quit your boyfriend, and if I read your hospital chart correctly, you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It's what you know how to do." Mere storms out, but Wyatt muses that they're getting somewhere. FINALLY.

Grey's Anatomy: The Becoming (Episode 75)

If you haven't already heard, Grey's Anatomy is the talk of the town after this steamy, controversial episode. Wondering what the fuss is all about? Here's how it went...

We start with Meredith finally letting everything out to her therapist. She tells the therapist how everytime she's around Derek she can't stop imagining his tongue in her mouth. She says she needs therapy tools on how to move on. Before she heads into her patients room for the day Meredith reminds herself that the reality is that Derek is with Rose. She heads into the room as if everything is fine. The patient is a young soldier named Darren who is in the Army. He is going to be part of Meredith's clinical trials. He has a brain tumor and they're going to inject him with a virus. The concept is that the virus will attack the tumor and shrink it. Just as they're explaining things another soldier appears at the door named Vernon. He says that Darren has been through multiple tours in Iraq and he can be beat this too.

Grey's Anatomy: Piece of My Heart (Episode 74)

Addison is back at the infamous Seattle Grace! Though she's back for just a visit Miranda and Richard are putting her to work. Who needs time off anyway, right? Hahn and Callie arrive at work after a refreshing morning yoga session. The minute Hahn walks through the doors Cristina is on her about wanting on the next surgery. As usual Hahn just brushes her off and keeps walking. Meredith is as happy as happy can be. Today she gets to be part of a clinical trial on the brother with the brain tumor from last episode. Izzie and Cristina can't help but be a little jealous. Though she's only been back for a mere few minutes things are already getting awkward for Addison. She runs into Derek and Meredith and even gives Meredith a hug. She tells them it was good to run into the "happy couple." Apparently she didn't get the news that they broke up. Neither Meredith or Derek fills her in on the breakup.

Grey's Anatomy: Where The Wild Things Are (Episode 73)

It's been over 3 months since the last Grey's Anatomy. If you're like me you probably are a little confused of where we left off, but have no fear you'll be caught up in no time.

Before we get into the episode, here's a quick summary of what has happened with the gang. Derek and Meredith are completely done and over with. Derek has moved on, in fact he's move on so much that things between him and Rose are pretty serious now. Lexi and George have moved into an apartment or as George calls it a "CRAPartment." Everyone else is pretty much normal. The big event this week is everyone is in a big competition. They are earning points through different medical procedures and whatnot. It's like they're interns again or something, they are pulling all-nighters and fighting each other for patients. Maybe they are doing this to make George feel better since he IS still an intern.

Grey's Anatomy: Lay Your Hands On Me (Episode 72)

Grey's Anatomy is back!! At least we got one more episode before the writer's strike sent Grey's away. I'm watching the episode for the first time as I type this so I'll waste no more time getting to the details. Here we go...

We begin with Miranda talking about everything "God" supposedly created; the birds, the bees, the plants, so on and so on, and then he created man, and she says it's been downhill ever since. Sticking with this earthy theme we pan to Derek and Sloane walking through a forest until they come upon a cliff with a beautiful view. Derek asks Sloan what he thinks, so Sloane who is oblivious to pretty much everything around him asks what Derek means. Derek tells him it's where he's going to build his home. Finally, he'll be moving out of that trailer. How many years has he been living in that thing anyway? Back in Seattle, Derek is now watching Meredith make breakfast -- for Lexi. They're having a conversation about the house when Derek drops the bomb and mentions that it's not just his house, it will be her house too. The news startles Meredith and she splatters an egg on the floor. Anyway, the breakfast obviously doesn't smell so good because everyone is waking up wondering what the nasty smell is. Once Lexi makes it downstairs Meredith tells her that she made breakfast for her which is a happy surprise to her, well until she takes a bite. She mixed avocados into the eggs and that apparently is not such a good combo, though I can't speak from experience. Miranda and her husband still have not sorted their problems out and yet again Miranda runs out the door rather than just facing the problems head on.
