Heroes: Dual (Episode 313)

Come with me if you want to live.Come with me if you want to live.Flame on, Heroes!  Now, in your best dramatic voice, let's talk about the episode that will change things forever!  Or at least until February when the show comes back from hiatus.  We got a (weak) conclusion to Volume 3 and the painfully obvious set up for next year's Volume 4, "Fugitives", but not everything was a complete bust.  Grab a hold of Ando, because it's time to supercharge our brains.

Heroes: Our Father (Episode 312)

Blast in the PastBlast in the PastSalutations, my little waffles.  Well, here have the penultimate episode of the "Villains" story arc, and unless they really get their act together, the volume title will have been a bit misleading.  I'd say there's only be a couple of cut-and-try, tried-and-true "villains", with too many heroes lingering in the grey in between.  "Villains" was to be their first true epic saga, and it's on the verge of fizzling out.  However, there's still next week to prove me wrong.  Let's begin.

Heroes: The Eclipse Part 2 (Episode 311)

This guy could not get any cooler. Seriously. This guy could not get any cooler. Seriously."In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight"  That's how the Green Lantern's oath begins, and I thought it appropriate since "The Eclipse, Part 2" focuses on that, both literally and figuratively.  Sure, the event itself may not have been as momentous as the NBC advertising would have led us to believe, but it did kick the show in the pants, moving it towards what could make for a very interesting mid-season finale;  let's not forget that the second half of the season will be an arc called "Fugitives".  Let's light 'em up, Lanterns.

Heroes: The Eclipse Part 1 (Episode 310)

Take that, science!Take that, science!Heroes assemble!  Here's we go, part one of the supposed game-changing epic known as "The Eclipse."  A good start but I feel that most of the big surprises are being left until part two.  This episode also requires that you've seen each and every episode of the season, so make sure to catch up on previous recaps in case you need a quick refresher.  Eyes toward the sky, let's begin.

Heroes: It's Coming (Episode 309)

Bad to the BoneBad to the BoneGreetings, Friendly-Neighborhood readers. Back to the old format this week with branching storylines.  Despite showrunner Tim Kring being behind the wheel for this week's installment, we didn't get a whole lot, mostly because this episode serves as setup for the next two episodes, "The Eclipse Parts 1 and 2".  Magical Turtle is no where to be found, but instead, we get waffles.

Heroes: Villains (Episode 308)

We're the bad guys. We're the bad guys.Greetings, True Believers.  We've got another linear story line this week, so I'll be foregoing the usual breakdowns.  This episode, "Villains", would have been much better off calling itself "Secret Origins" instead.  The secret origin is one of the most highly respected story a comic book can tell, usually being the set-in-stone rules for characters.  This time, not so much.  And lack of magical turtle does not help.  Shall we?

Heroes: Eris Quod Sum (Episode 307)

Too...much...awesomeness...Too...much...awesomeness...Calling all Heroes!  First off, I don't speak a lick of Latin, but the episode title translates to "I am what you will be."  A fair title, given the number of pairings and parallels this time around.  The good news is that our favorite turtle does in fact make an appearance this week.  Whew.  No segmented recapping this week - for once, the show had a direct narrative that plays out in order.  Let's begin.

Heroes: Dying of the Light (Episode 306)

Touched by a DevilTouched by a DevilThanks for answering the call, Heroes!  This latest episodes feels like a stop on the side of the road for the on-going story, with a quick detour towards a new foe.  That being said, there was quite a bit of good to take away from this mostly setup episode, including the addition of a now credible threat other than the world coming to an end.  Finally, some of the bad guys are acting like bad guys.  Enough with these shades of gray already!
