The Hills: They Meet Again (Episode 307)

Elodie breaks Heidi down (click for video from MTV Overdrive)Elodie breaks Heidi down (click for video from MTV Overdrive)I was just thinking about the recap at the beginning of each episode of "The Hills", and how my DVR usually doesn't get it all. So I don't actually know if it's always Lauren who discusses everything that happened in the last episode. And if it is, why don't we hear her gag everytime she says Heidi or Spencer's name? Any thoughts on this can (and should) be left in the comments section.

The Hills: Second Chances (Episode 306)

I don't know that there is any place on television more exciting (or more stylish) than the fashion closet at the Teen Vogue offices. The clothes are gorgeous, the lighting appears to be flattering, and the gossip is abundant. Whitney and Lauren exchange some quick pleasantries before Lauren gets all serious -- speaking just a shade over a whisper, Lauren reveals that Jason (yes, that Jason -- the one she chose over Paris, and they still broke up) called her last night. The last time Lauren saw him was at the beginning of season 2, when he was picking up the last of his stuff after the breakup. Where has Jason been, Whitney wants to know. Apparently, Whitney doesn't read gossip blogs as much as I do because if she did, she would know he's been in rehab. So should she meet him? How does he has such an uncanny way of showing up just when her life is getting good?

The Hills: "Rolling With The Enemy"

When is the Justin/Bobby rollercoaster going to stop? Lauren wants to know. Audrina's not sure, but she knows one thing: Heidi and Spencer are going to be pissed when they find out Lauren's been hanging out with Brody.

Bolthouse. Brent convenes the staff for a meeting to begin planning an upcoming event for Chelsea Football Club . But before he gets to that, he asks Heidi if Lauren and Brody are back together. He saw them this weekend. Last time Heidi heard, they hated each other. So "it's pretty weird". Or maybe Heidi needs to get more current information on her friends and enemies, eh?

The Hills: "Meet The Parents"

Original Air Date: August 27, 2007

Heidi has a proposal for Spencer: come home to Colorado that weekend to meet her parents. Sounds great, but that weekend is the barbecue he'd been planning with Brody for a while. He changes his mind, and agrees to join her.

Spencer breaks the news to Brody at STI Motorsports, who is pissed though understanding. Spencer is in love, after all.

The Hills: "Truth And Time Tells All"

Original Air Date: August 20, 2007

Bolthouse. Heidi gives Elodie a second before shoving her ginormous engagement ring in her face. Elodie, like many of us, wonders if Heidi and Spencer aren't just a bit young to be getting engaged. Heidi insists, though, that meeting someone like "a Spencer" at her age is a totally different thing: "He's, like, my soul mate." Whatevs -- Elodie still thinks they should indulge in the luxury of a long engagement.

Meanwhile, Spencer gives Brody the news on a shopping trip. "It went amazing." Spencer used to think marriage was for losers, an opinion Brody seems to back up. Brody, priorities in order and all, wants to know when the bachelor party is.

Teen Vogue, which means one thing -- Whitney, my favorite person on the show. Lauren still doesn't get what Audrina sees in Justin/Bobby, but is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. She'll be meeting the couple for drinks that night to get to know him a little better, promising that she will try hard.

Heidi and Spencer meet at home, recapping their day when Heidi stops cooing long enough to see an arcade game in the corner where previously there was... I don't remember, but there definitely wasn't an arcade game.

The Hills: "Big Girls Don't Cry"

Original Air Date: August 13, 2007

Spencer and Heidi at Le Pain Quotidien. Heidi cannot believe Lauren for her outburst, or Audrina for her taking Lauren's side. She doesn't seem especially affected, moving the conversation to painting the apartment. While Heidi envisions collecting swatches, Spencer goes ahead and gets graffiti painted in the living room. Believe me, it looks klassy with the new aquarium. Though Heidi wants to spend the weekend painting over, Spencer thinks they should spend that time in Santa Barbara. Whatever for? To get engaged, as Spencer's bought a non-returnable ring. Though Brody protested all the way, he accompanied his boy to boutique Ice to get the ring. The conversation they had in the car on the way didn't inspire any confidence that Spencer might actually settle down for real, but I suppose if Heidi accepts, then I have no choice but to sit back and hope I'm wrong for her sake.

The Hills: "You Know What You Did"

Original Air Date: August 13, 2007

Whitney's back in the Teen Vogue fashion closet, but now she's got her own desk! I'm guessing she got the job. She's wearing a super-cute black mini dress with a heavy gold wooden bead necklace, which looks great. Lauren finds her organizing her workspace, and finds the intern workspaces (and the rest of the closet) reorganized as well. Before they talk shop, though, they get down to business: Lauren's been the subject of rumors that appear on the internet almost as soon as her friends have asked about them. The rumors, the biggest of which being that she and ex Jason made "inappropriate videotapes", have even gotten back to her parents in Laguna. Whitney's only got one (good) question: "Have you heard from Heidi lately?"

The Hills: "Goodbye for Now"

Original Air Date: April 2, 2007

You could almost say you've seen the entire second season when you watch the beginning of this ep, as the opening montage was that thorough. But you would have missed my hero, Andre Leon Talley, like, anointing Whitney with his fabulousness in the previous ep, "Everyone Falls", which is offically my favorite Hills episode ever.

The Hills: Everyone Falls (Episode 211)

Original Air Date: March 26, 2007

Lisa Love has a big assignment: with the Oscars coming up, Vogue Editor-At-Large Andre Leon Talley will be coming out to tape a segment for "Good Morning America". 30 dresses worn by famous actresses to past ceremonies have been collected for the show. New York intern Emily will be back in town to model one of the dresses, and assist with the project. While the girls have no questions, Whitney asks Lisa is she has some time to talk to her. Lisa does, so Lauren returns to the fashion closet so Whitney can have her chat. She is looking for advice on how she can further her career at Teen Vogue. Lisa says there is a fashion contributor position open, and it's a wonderful job for someone like Whitney. Whitney, however, would not be the only person qualified and applying for the position. So Whitney would just have to work on proving herself, and Lauren immediately volunteers to join her campaign.

The Hills: "Apology Not Accepted"

Original Air Date: March 19, 2007

Heidi confirms that Spencer asked her to move in. Though Lauren is mollified when Heidi said she was going to stay, she's still concerned that she didn't learn it from Heidi herself.

Trying to mend the friendship, Heidi is planning a surprise with Audrina. Heidi will bail on a birthday dinner, pissing Lauren off just before she and the rest of their friends surprise her with a huge party at Hyde. Lauren is excited to have a good birthday with her friends, as she tells Whitney at work.
