Wayne is woken up by Sam, it's time to go to Jim's funeral. Dale's truck has been parked outside of the house for 3 days and Wayne's wondering what's going on. They arrive at the cemetery and find that Jim had a lot of friends. Dahlia is still giving Wayne the silent treatment, Di Di wants to know what's going on and Dahlia tells her to ask Wayne - it's about Pete. Wayne tells her that Pete had an accident. Dahlia clarified her husband's answer and told her that Dale killed him.

Chet Landry comes to the Rich home and talks to Dahlia about Pete's disappearance. She seemed somewhat surprised to find out that Pete's mother thought that her son and Cherien Rich were having an affair. Chet was trying to figure out if the "crisis" Pete called his therapist about while he was visiting "Doug Rich" had to do with the fact that "Doug" may have learned of the affair. Dahlia said Pete was going through a lot and that they never had an affair. She then launched into a story about how Pete told them he was losing his job and said he wished he could walk away and start all over again. Landry wasn't writing any of Dahlia's answers down, and it's evident he doesn't believe Dahlia's story. He's surprised that "Doug" hadn't talked to his wife about Pete's disappearance. Dahlia was again surprised that Chet had already spoken with Wayne.

Wayne and Dahlia are trying to figure out what's become of Cael. Loudly. Wayne gets a call from Hugh. Sam, who was woken up by his parents' shouting, informs Dahlia that everything's going to be ok. Dahila tries to call Cael, he's not picking up the phone. He chucks his cell phone away. and heads out of Eden Falls. Sam goes out into Cael's tent and sees a man in the driveway. He starts to run. Hmmm.

When we last left the Malloys. Dahlia had walked into a police station, announcing that she was a parole violator. She told the officer that "Mark from AA" said he was "cool" and understood how life can get complicated. She went on to tell her that since getting out of jail three months earlier, she hadn't gotten in touch with her parole officer before leaving Alabama and then proceeded to give the officer a litany of excuses, shooting herself in the foot when she couldn't tell him the name of the blood disease her son has. The officer is sick of the BS and gets Dahlia cuffed. Dahlia tried to apologize. She cried and said she wanted to tell him the truth and wanted a chance to change her life. She also said it was hard to stop lying. This has been Minnie Driver's "Emmy Consideration Moment"(tm). It worked on the officer, who gave her 24 hours to get a job and a place to live. If she could keep the job for 30 days, he'd take over her file. If she didn't he'll send her mugshot to every police station in Louisiana. Yikes.

The Malloys arrive back at Eden Falls and settle back into their lives as the Riches. The police also arrive at the house and put Cael under arrest for breaking and entering at the school (as you may remember, Cael and his buddies broke in and tampered with their grades on the school's computers last season.) Wayne meets the fathers of Cael's buddies at the police station and learns the boys are being charged with felonies for getting paid to alter their classmates' grades as well. Wayne says they should team up to make sure their boys don't end up in jail.

When we last left the Malloy clan, Dahila and the kids were in Blunt, Texas, while Wayne tried to deal with the double-trouble combo of Dale and Hugh, and one dead Pete. Cael attempted to stel a van, which didn't sit well with its owner, who pulled a gun on the gang, which also includes Nina the neighbor. The van owner gets in and forces Cael to drive. Not good. Wayne and Dale take Hugh home and then attend to Pete. Dahila, the kids and Nina are now at van guy's house - now revealed as one Bob Day. Dahlia tries to reason with Bob, but he's not having it - he's getting a series of collection calls and is getting increasingly stressed. Mrs. Day comes home and finds her hubby holding a group of strangers at gunpoint and the two go in another room to argue. Dahlia tries to make a break for it, but is quite unsuccessful. Mrs. Day can't understand why Bob is holding the family hostage and he explains that they're 'traveler scum' who were planning on ripping them off. Di Di said they were just on their way to their grandma's funeral. Mrs. Day dumps the contents of either Di Di or Dahila's purse on the floor and find a bunch of fake IDs. Whoops.

Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it? When we last left Wayne and Dahlia Malloy and the kids, the family was in danger of being found out as cons, after taking over the life of attorney Doug Rich and his family.

The family needed to escape from Eden Falls, and in an RV without a distributor cap, the evil Dale and the real Doug Rich's friend Pete in hot pursuit, Wayne doesn't have any idea what the family should do. They've only got $7,000 on them, which alarms Dahlia. Wayne volunteers to go back to the house and get the Mercedes. Sam, the youngest son, has a plan. He found the money Dahlia buried in the woods and wanted to use it to bribe Pete. Wayne says Pete can't be bought and he and Dahila go to retrieve the car. Wayne doesn't get into the car and tells Dahlia to take the kids and that they'll meet up in Galveston, before making their way to Mexico. Wayne wants to try to bribe Pete - or at least buy a little more time for Dahila and the kids.

Seems like we just met Wayne and Dahlia Malloy and their kids, and it's already season finale time. How time flies! Actually, this episode was sort of disappointing - almost anti-climactic (I wonder if it was produced after the show got the green light for the second season.) The episode opens with Pete still wanting to know who Wayne really was. Wayne (as always) claims there's a rational explanation. Meanwhile, a creepy, Adaams Family reject-looking child is wandering through the offices at Panco with a realistic toy gun. He squirts Wayne right in his crotch with a red liquid (Kool Aid?). The little darling is one of Gigi's kids (More like one of Bebe's Kids, if you ask me!) Wayne excuses himself to go clean up and calls Dahila - and repeating some phrase that sounds like "skull crushe" or something (sorry, I don't speak traveler.) Pete finds him and demands answers...NOW... or he will expose Wayne as a fraud. Wayne tells him that Doug asked him to "be him" (Wayne's name is now "Gene Morangelo" - or something like that. And of course he has the fake ID to prove his identity.) Doug is supposedly in hiding, and Wayne promised Pete that he would contact Doug and arrange for a meeting of the two old friends.

Cael finds an email from Doug Rich's old pal Pete - he wants to come and visit. Hugh's back from his sabbatical, and he's not alone. He was in Taos for some cleansing and met Gigi, a gymnast/dancer. He's in love - and married her. Wayne needs to draft the pre-nup and get it signed. Dale managed to bed Hartley (already) and enjoys playing with her arm (with her too...ewww...) Dahlia can't figure out the concept of a pre-nup. Cael tells Wayne that Pete is coming to visit, despite the myriad of illnesses they've given in the past as excuses.

Wayne is really torn up after his night of meth abuse, but he has to go to work. Dahlia realized that she needs to strighten herself up and throws out all of her bottles (cough syrup and pill). She wants to do a cleansing. Cael, Sam and DiDi arent't too enthused about said cleansing. Gramma Cherien is loving Sam's smoothies and doesn't want to return to the home. Eric, DiDi's Emo boyfriend, bought them matching shirts. Dahila is happy DiDi has a new friend and shows her the pill bottles in the trash - DiDi won't have to take care of her mom again. I think DiDi isn't too secure in this assesment. Hugh is MIA, but he has fired some people and everyone's freaking out. Dahlia knows what's up with Hugh (white powder?) and tells Wayne it's time to act like a partner. Wayne finally agrees and signs the paperwork.
